Super fun way of traveling into Canada. Lovely service as well. They seem to run a little behind schedule occasionally but who can blame them. They have so many things going on. Very nice comfortable boat. Car parking is a little difficult inside the ferry specially if you have a larger car, but I’ve seen 18 wheelers and boats and trucks and everything being towed in. They figure it out. The time passes much quicker than you think it would. The site and scene are also very beautiful in summer.
The departures and arrivals are always on time. Everyone must leave vehicles during the trip, so we know all our vacation things are safe while we enjoy the view on the upper decks inside or out. Nice views of the harbor coming and going.
Nice ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria. We'll managed with quick embarkation and disembarking. Trip was about 1.5 hours and very comfortable with nice, clean bathrooms and facilities. The ferry left and arrived right on time. You can buy food and drinks on board or bring your own.
Pretty easy experience with black ball, it was a nice drive to get to Port Angeles and once there lots to do and eat. We turned into the terminal from the fare paid lane, the attendant checked our passports and we rolled up to the cash window. It's an older boat, so was a bit tight where we got placed in the row, I had to climb over to the passenger side to exit. Also feel the waves a bit more on this one, but we did see an orca breach and it was a fairly short trip. Customs on the Canada side took a bit longer than expected but all in all not a bad experience.
Came over from Port Angeles and caught the last boat back. October, so the last boat was early, i.e., 4 pm something 1600+. Walk on was simple, right in the buildings doors, then up a ramp on to the ship. The ramp is covered and a simple wall to brake the wind, without it being stuffy.nOn arrival, customs was straight forward, Some paperwork, which we did on the trip over forms from the Port Angeles terminal. Without luggage, is was a mostly a formality.
