We had a terrific experience traveling to Canada and back to the US between Port Angeles and Victoria BC. It's 90 minutes each way.nnWe got to Port Angeles about 40 mins before departure, and it was alright since cars were still lined up at the entrance.nnThey check your passports at the drive-up gate, and you pay for your tickets if you haven't already. Then they usher you to a waiting line to park.nnDuring boarding, you'll be ushered to a row to park. Be sure you leave enough space to get out of your car since parking is tight.nnYou'll go upstairs to the passenger deck. Stairs and elevators are available. There's plenty of climate controlled seating in the passenger area, cafeteria with table seating, and the indoor observation lounge. Restrooms are available, and a gift shop is in the cafeteria. There's Wi-Fi service, but I wasn't able to connect successfully.nnDisembarking on the Victoria side, you wait to answer questions at a drive-up gate with an officer. Your passports are checked, and you're asked if you've anything to declare or have fruits or meats or cannabis items, etc. Don't bring any of those things.nnWhen returning to the US, you line up 90 minutes before departure. An officer checks your passports at your car, then you walk inside the building to get your passports rechecked. Disembarking on the US side, it's a similar procedure at the drive-up gate. However, we saw officers opening car doors and trunks to check inside for a few other cars.

Great experience. My first time on a boat of any kind, just took a round trip to Victoria for a day and while it's a lot of waiting it was a very good experience.nThe process was much easier than getting on a plane; it was smooth, efficient, and stream lined. Moving around on the decks was a lot of fun and incredibly scenic. I even got to see a whale halfway across the journey on the way there, and there was a gorgeous red sunset on my way back.nThe ferry has lots of places to sit both inside and outside though ai recommend a jacket and a hat as its chilly offshore. There's a dining area with a decent little place to get a quick snack plus a small gift shop nook, bathrooms are decent and clean, boarding vehicles is really easy. The one thing I regret was doing a round trip on the same day as boarding the ferry takes a few hours of waiting around just like a plane so if you're doing a round trip I'd make it a weekend instead of a day trip.

Super awesome ferry service! Fun way to get out on the water and visit Victoria BC. Great on board snack shop where you can grab some food and a beverage.

This ferry experience is definitely a level below those BC ferries. It was an interesting experience to clear immigration on the Victoria side, and then clear Customs in the Port Angeles side. The boat is not large so swayed quite a bit during the 1.5 hrs voyage.

Be aware you have to get outbound your car and stay upstairs while the ferry is moving. Other than that it was nice. Smooth sailing, the waters were calm and only 90 minutes to arive to our destination from Victoria to port angles.
