Some months back my doc gave me a list of companies offering prenatal classes. I called one of them and the woman on the phone took my credit card number for a one day pre-natal class and neglected to tell me that my transaction was non refundable. She then directed me to their website to register for the class I was interested in. Months went by, I received two calls from her to go to their website to register. The week before the class was scheduled, I finally had some time to go to their website for the first time to register. A few days later my BF and I got the flu so knowing that we weren't feeling well on Friday and this class was Sunday, and not wanting to expose other Moms to be, I emailed her on Sat morning to say we are sick and that I'm not sure of my options, maybe we can get a refund. She suggested another class not in Milton or an in home session which would cost another $113 on top of the $226 she took off my credit card months before: I decided that those weren't good options and started to look more into this and found a free online one with Halton region. Julie at the Birth Experience refuses to give me a refund, because they don't do refunds and she expected me to somehow have read the fine print on her website which I didn't visit for the first time till a week before the class. Even if I had the chance to visit her website one min after my phone call she had already been eager to take my cc #/money and neglected to mention that it was non refundable. If I knew that I wouldn't have given her the card but looked at other options or book closer to the time of the class. She says she has been in business for 21 yrs and had no problems but clearly she is a money grabbing dense woman who doesn't understand stating the terms of a transaction and stressing a Mom to be over not giving me my money back! Beware of her!...not sure how she can call herself a 'health care professional when she has no concern for the mental state of an 8 months pregnant woman, she hasn't even responded to my last email to her about my money.
