Room was great size for our family of 6 and we didn’t need to ask for extra towels! Laundry facilities and an indoor pool. Breakfast was great. Parking lot is tight. Location is a bit away from grocery store. But it’s literally right across from the bay and a trail along the bay. The beach was a 20 min drive.
The location was fine. Parking isn't for bigger vehicles, the shower was DIRTY long black hair all over it and on the bathroom floor when we got there. Beds were hard and uncomfortable woke up in pain. The pool was very cold for an indoor pool, and other guest were drinking and smoking by it. Will not be staying at this location again.
This location was found for us by a travel agent with global travel. I have mixed feelings about it. We were told we would have a separate bedroom from the kids but we were all in one open room. We were told that it was a heated pool but it was very much so a cold pool. We were told it was closer to the ocean. We did have a view of the bay, it was walking distance to check out the bay and the Fisherman's Market but definitely no beach access nearby. We drove a half hour south to play at Bandon. Our room was so loud with traffic that my 2 year old and I did not sleep well because when the big rigs come rolling in and downshift it nearly rattles the walls. All of that being said we did still enjoy ourselves. They offer the same breakfast each morning but there is a good selection. I clean houses so I like things very clean and I wasn't grossed out like I have been at other Best Westerns but you can tell it is an older hotel and certain things don't get cleaned. Baseboards, windowsills, hood vent etc It was wonderful being able to save money and cook in our room. The basic necessities of the kitchen were provided but not quite as much as expected. We had to buy a pizza pan which we found at the dollar store. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and Coos Bay is a cool little town that we wouldn't have experienced if our travel agent hadn't ignored most of our top wishes. And although we felt safe and had no personal issues a gentleman staying at the same time as us did have his pick-up stolen out of the parking lot overnight.
This was probably one of the most run down best westerns we have ever stayed at. We cut our trip short here because it wasn't worth the amount we payed to stay here, at $270+ a night, this hotel needs a major upgrade!nThe rooms smell musty, the carpet makes your feet black from walking on it, their was mold on the toilet and the bathroom door squeeked bad when opening and closing it. The beds are old and have springs, so every time you turn over while sleeping, you get a spring in your back or hip. The beds definitely need an upgrade!nLuckily we reserved a bottom floor room because there is no elevator here. The parking is very tight and feels up fast.nSaturday morning breakfast, the worker couldn't keep up with the restock fast enough and when asked for a restock of an item, she would get frustrated. The waffles were decent though if there was enough mix inside to make any. We watched the worker take out the old mix, set the part of the machine down on top of the garbage can, until she came back with new mix. Gross!!nThe pool/hottub area is nice, but can get very loud and muggy inside.nWalking the beach or having kids play at the beach, isn't within walking distance, it's atleast a 20min drive way. Save yourself some money and stay at the casino just down the way....
This Best Western is wedged between two one way heavily trafficked roads and could be hazardous if you have younger children or your pet dashes off. The room was clean enough and the breakfast was the typical continental with a few extras. They are very pet friendly so that’s a plus. The front desk service was fantastic and they truly make an effort to welcome you. If you don’t have problems with truck/car noise with a building wedge BW two high speed roads, then this place is for you. There are not a lot of options in Coos Bay so you may not have a choice. I would only stay here again if I need a pet room. Otherwise, for the same price, they are a few other motels down/up the streets.
