I have been a patient at Beacon Dermatology for some time and have always received excellent care from Dr. Andrei Metelitsa and his nursing staff. Unfortunately, my recent experience with Dr. Branden Reid was deeply disappointing and has caused lasting harm.nnDuring an appointment on August 21, 2024, for wart treatment on my hand, Dr. Reid performed the procedure with very little control. Despite reassuring me beforehand that he would avoid damaging my hand tattoo, the treatment was administered in an excessively broad and prolonged manner, causing severe burns. These burns later became infected, leaving me with significant scarring and extensive damage to my tattoo. The wound took approximately an entire month to heal.nnAs someone who works in directly with their hands, this injury has impacted my ability to work and resulted in a loss of income. I’ve also incurred additional medical expenses, and the emotional distress caused by the scarring and tattoo damage has been difficult to deal with.nnWhile I’ve always had positive experiences with Dr. Metelitsa and the nursing staff, my experience with Dr. Reid was far below the standard of care I’ve come to expect from Beacon Dermatology. I hope that my experience is not a reflection of the clinic as a whole, but I would caution anyone considering treatment with Dr. Reid.
Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cohen and Betti at Beacon Dermatology. I've seen them a number of times now, and they are an extraordinary team, providing excellent all-around care and treatment. They have gone above and beyond in supporting me and my health in the last few months, treating me with dignity, respect, and a true feeling of partnership.
I’m not generally one to write reviews but I went to this clinic for the first time yesterday and was so happy with my experience.nThe front desk staff were very helpful and efficient. Betti prepped me for the doctor and was very thorough, kind and professional. I’ve had issues with my psoriasis for the past couple of years and felt my medication had changed, although my doctor said it hadn’t, causing it to get out of control. She dug into my medical history while I was with Dr Cohen and managed to find the old prescription. Dr Cohen was amazing. So knowledgeable and empathic. He recommended something more effective and effectively did more for me in one visit than I’ve been able to accomplish with my family doctor in 2+ years. It’s been 1.5 days and I’m already feeling relief after over 2 years of discomfort.nI highly recommend this clinic, specifically Dr Cohen and Betti based on my experience, although I’m sure they have many exceptional doctors and staff members. Thank you so much for making a huge difference in my life in such a short amount of time I’d give ten stars if I could!nSide note: they were very quick to fit me in for an appointment
I am not one to write a lot of these reviews but wanted to share my experience today.nnI went in for a skin removal procedure and I was a little bit nervous as it was close to my eye. However, as a patient of Dr. Metelitsa’s I felt confident that he would do a great job with it.nnHe is truly one of the best doctors I have ever experienced. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, professional, respectful and takes great pride in his work.nnHis nurse Karine was knowledgeable and kind and did a great job in preparing me for the procedure. She went over all the steps we would go through, was attentive throughout and provided me with lotion and directions to follow afterwards.nDr. Metelitsa completed the procedure and they worked really well together as a team. I am very thankful for the great job they did and the overall experience I had at Beacon today.nnI would highly recommend Dr. Metalitsa to anyone who wants to be treated with the utmost of respect and have their health concerns dealt with the way they should be. Truly one of the best doctors in the city and a great clinic. Thank you!
I was referred to this clinic by my GP for some moles of concern. The front desk staff were friendly and the nurses were great although the Dr Poleman seemed rushed and although she took care of the issue it seemed she had better places to be?nI’ve read similar reviews of her attentiveness or lack there of and went in with an open mind but her bedside manner is noticeably lacking. I don’t and didnt require special attention but it would go a long way to not give the appearance of indifference.nAs I say, the nurses were lovely and should be commended for their attention to the patient but I would likely seek an alternative for future dermatology needs/concerns.nOffice is clean and modern and I was seen relatively quickly otherwise the rating would have been lower to reflect.
