Art-Is-In Bakery has been a beloved spot for our family for years. Nestled in the heart of Ottawa, it truly is a hidden gem that consistently serves up some of the best food in the city. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, the atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are friendly, and the food quality never disappoints.nnOne of my absolute favorites is their tuna melt. It’s always perfectly prepared with a generous amount of filling, and the flavor is absolutely addictive. Every bite reminds me why we keep coming back. Their bread pudding is another standout item. It’s rich, indulgent, and simply heavenly—an absolute must-try if you visit.nnHowever, despite how much we enjoy the food, there’s no ignoring the elephant in the room: the pricing. I understand that we live in a post-COVID world where inflation has affected almost every aspect of life, including dining out. But paying $20 for just a tuna melt sandwich feels excessive, even for a place known for its gourmet offerings.nnDon’t get me wrong—the food and service are consistently top-notch, and the staff always go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. Still, the high prices make it difficult to justify eating here as often as we’d like. It’s the only thing keeping me from giving this place a full 5-star rating.nnOverall, Art-Is-In Bakery is a fantastic spot for food lovers who don’t mind splurging a bit. While the pricing might not be for everyone, the quality of the food and the exceptional service make it worth visiting, even if only occasionally. I’m giving it 4 stars out of 5—and would recommend it with the caveat that it might stretch your budget.
Tried this café last week and absolutely fell in love with it! The environment is very laid back and the food is so thoughtfully curated. Tastes like a home made meal. The vanilla iced latte is a great balance between creamy and rich coffee flavour not overly sweet. The savoury french toast was my favourite. I loved the house-made ketchup 100x better than heinz lol & maple syrup. I just truly appreciate the thoughtfulness in the food and the staff was so pleasant! highly recommended.
This place feels like a hidden gem. We saw it on You Gotta Hear Here and made the trip. It was definitely worth it. The hot and honey chicken sandwich was the best! Prices are a little high but the taste and quality is worth it. The peaches and cream cronut was so delicious and massive. We will definitely be back.
Nice cafe in an industrial strip mall. The pastries here are advertised as from scratch, local and all these other fancy marketing words but I'm here to tell you that they are actually really good. I ordered a chocolatine and it was perfectly fresh, crispy, buttery, sweet, and chocolatey. They have plates and coffee bar as well.nA bit pricey though. The chocolatine was CAD$7.
Visited from Toronto this weekend- you order inside and they bring your food out when its ready. we sat outside since we brought our dogs. They have a nice fenced in patio area you can tie your dogs to with big picnic tables. I just wish there was an umbrella on every table.nnI had Mt first cronut! We got the raspberry peach flavour, it was so good! Light and fluffy, very airy with a great bite to it, filled with a peach cream inside.nnThe hot honey crispy chicken sandwich was amazing, super crispy and not too oily. Well flavoured on a fresh brioche bun and a nice sweet tomato sauce for the fries!
