It's a small place in Potluck food hall but who would have thought that a pinch of American and another of Mexican would result in a delicious combination of flavors. When the cashier asked for my name and phone number to let us know when the food will be ready he replied: "Bonita" instead of my name my family and I laughed and we are honored that he spoke Spanish... that was the icing on the cake! Definitely a great experience in every way, worth coming back.
Friendly service. Just ordered 6 ribs with no sides and ribs were great and tastety. I did not even use the sauce I had them put on the side. Ribs were tender and juice and needed no sauce at all. Definetly will be back when I'm at Rosedale.
OMG! not only the staff was amazing, the food! the food! Shrimp tostadas... now it is my favorite. I was there for the first time and I will definitely be back! It is really food for your soul... Fresh, tasty, yummy... THANK YOU! simply amazing place with amazing people!
So damn good! Definitely a must. Ordered the 4 pc St. Louis style ribs w/ 2 sides: johnny cakes and pinapple slaw., and the Chicken Alambre. Yes, I'm coming back to try the rest of the menu.
Stopped to pick up some lunch from a minority owned small business in Rosedale. Tried some new-to-me food and it was pretty good! Got a few things to try & share, thw Sopes was wonderful. Glad to know this place exists!
Pulled pork sandwich and collard greens were delicious. Loved the pineapple coleslaw on the pulled pork. Best collard greens I've had anywhere. Great portions for the price, our sandwiches had heaping servings of meat. Can't wait to go back for more!
So delicious! Awesome to see Adam and his son, Turner, working here. A family affair and it tastes like it. That jerk chicken sandwich just jumped to the top of my list of favorite sandwiches in a big way.
Had 6 bones of ribs with a side of fries and Johnny cakes. Everything was great! The fries were fresh and piping hot, the Johnny cakes were moist and sweet, and the ribs were meaty and tender. Some of the best ribs I’ve had in the twin cities. Generous portions had me stuffed and I’m a big guy. Will come back and try the collard greens and rice and beans next time!
Literally the best food I've had in at least a month! Ribs were tender, smoked and sauced perfectly- not dripping in sauce where you can't even taste the meat. Collard greens, pineapple coleslaw and to top it off Johnny cakes with serrano peppers and served with maple butter. It hit the spot-right in the Soul Food: 5/5
In Rosedale mall. Was excited to try their street tacos, especially as it's advertised as soul food. Expecting flavor. 4 tacos, plus 2 drinks, and a dish of beans and rice, almost 40$. Ok. I have no problem paying for good food. I understand things have changed and I work in the food industry, I get complaints all the time about cost. This was horrible. Steak was not a good quality, chewy, dry. Taco shells were horribly stale. The beans and rice had NO flavor, at all. How is this a southern, soul flavor? Just completely disappointed and don't recommend.
