Yakima Sportsman State Park

Decent campgrounds, bathrooms aren't too exciting, or terribly clean. One shower house works, with tokens, which have to be purchased from main gate station. From looking at the map, I thought our site (31) would be close to easily do some fishing. But it turns out you have to hike a ways down to get to a river access. Kind of a small park, but thankfully it was pretty empty when we stayed (mid October). It was nice to have a Wal-Mart close by.

Great place for friends and family! An even better place to can a year's worth of food. Grab a camp site, bring your canning gear and head out to all the local farm for fresh food, and pick it yourself vegetables. You know what's in them so it tastes even better when you open them later!

Get a discovery pass, visit often in this secure park... They have camping available. Firepits ( bring wood from the terrace heights 7-11 perhaps.. no gathering ). Horseshoe pits... i think they still have them... i wounder if the ever added the 9 hole frisbee golf? Showers, bathrooms, sheltered picnic tables with wood or charcoal above ground grill... good for parties.

Park and facilities were nice and kept clean. The rangers were some of the worst I have ever experienced. They were very unfriendly and were not accommodating to families or groups. They also found it necessary to be suited up in full tactical gear at all times making it very intimidating. We will not be staying here again.

Absolutely beautiful park. Very clean restrooms and lovely camping area. Some fun hikes and a nice view of the Yakima river. Would definitely recommend for camping or even just a picnic.
