Holiday Inn Yakima

Very nice rooms, friendly staff, gated parking area for security and in walking distance to restaurants and bars. They also have rooms service and a bar/restaurant if you don't want to go out. Splendid views of the surrounding hillsides, you can even see the top of Mt. Rainer and Mt. Adams! Great stay!

The room was clean and crisp when we entered. Little did we know they raised the rate for our group of over 100, well above their seasonal prices. There is no continental breakfast, no food of any kind available to guest in the morning. The one night we went to the hotel restaurant their was one waitress for all guests all night long. The daily service left a placard on the bed saying they were unable to change the sheets because of personal belongings. Their was a neck pillow on the bed. Waste baskets were left full for three of the four day stay. No new towels were provided without calling and requesting them multiple times. It was a very disappointing experience from a major chain. I expected better and found it that 1.5 miles down the road there is a holiday inn express.

Reasonably priced, nice staff. Super clean rooms and ultra-comfortable beds. There are fridges in the rooms. They have rooms that connect, if you need that option, and there's enough space in the room for a crib or roll a way. My one complaint would be the system to turn on your lights requires your room card...this is common. However, it seems to glitch a lot. There's a bar in the nice lobby, which has event space adjacent. Breakfast is available for an additional $10 per person. Parking is secure and free. Well located near freeway access and downtown Yakima.

Like noise? You'll love this place. Paper-thin walls (and I mean PAPER-thin); I could hear both ends of the phone conversation my next-door neighbor was having while his TV blasted away against our common wall at the head of my bed. When I complained to the desk, they dutifully rang his room and asked him to turn it down--I know because I could hear that conversation too. Frankly, it didn't help much. I honestly believe you could carry on a room to room conversation right through these walls, without raising your voice! Then there were the kids running up and down the hall all night. Can't really blame the hotel for that (or can you?). Bottom line, if you're looking for a quite place to rest or get some work done, keep looking!

Food is awesome, great tasting, fairly decent price. Good place for get together and relax
