Hilton Garden Inn Yakima

Fairly basic hotel, but it's clean and comfortable. We were especially impressed with the staff, and especially with Crystal Johnson - she was extremely efficient and competent. We had an issue with Expedia and she handled them on the phone with patience and grace. About the hotel itself: it's located in the old mall, and it's in a central location of town, walkable to the Capitol Theater and many good restaurants. We have stayed there several times. There is a fairly small parking lot just off the street and also parking below the hotel (vehicles need to be under 7 feet tall).

Nice place, parking lot full, had to park on side street. Delicious made to order omelettes, breakfast buffet. Props to Sergio in dining room. Very accommodating. Give the guy a raise!

The hotel was nice and met my expectations--I mean, it's a Hilton. What I didn't expect was the sad condition of the surrounding area. There were so many closed and boarded up business establishments--this hotel is located in part of a mall that has been closed since 2003! Apparently there were efforts in 2008 to revitalize the area, but that was unfortunate timing. For now there is art work in many of the windows facing Yakima Ave., an attempt to make the places seem not so deserted-looking. I feel the area is ripe for becoming a better tourist destination, what with the rich soil for vineyards and all of the hops that are grown here, but it has yet to be fully taken advantage of. I hope things pick up--it is an otherwise charming city! And of course, it has a nice Hilton.

Really pleased. The staff were all great. One offered to princess carry me over the threshold of the room. This was after a/c unit snafu. We were quickly moved and given breakfast vouchers as an apology (which was super nice of them). Hotel was quiet, clean, And decorated nicely. Would stay at again.

Clean and comfortable! If you’re planning on visiting Yakima or the surrounding towns/cities, I recommend staying at this hotel.
