My wife and I booked here for a couple nights while we were in the Traverse City area to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first time with a B&B. The experience was very enjoyable and peaceful. We've spent extra money several times on top-notch hotels, and now just one experience at a B&B like "Wind In The Pines", and we're now strong proponents of B&B's over any hotel. There was only one other couple staying there while we were, so it was very quiet, serene, and peaceful, unlike what you typically experience at a hotel. The Inn keepers/owners were the most friendly and kind people that you could meet. They were very personable and conversational, but at the same time respected our privacy and serenity. The house itself, as well as our room, was very well kept and clean. There was definitely some effort put into preparing our breakfast each morning and not just "whipping something up" real fast. The beds were probably the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in (if you prefer soft over firm). We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My only criticism, and I will admit is knit picking, is in regards to the outside grounds. The landscaping is immaculate but there appears to be a major ant infestation of the grass and yard. Spraying with some "Talstar P" insecticide would certainly do some good.

Most gracious host's we've ever experienced! They treated our 13month old like a kid of their own family. At Wind In The Pines, the food was amazing (five star high end quality breakfast that will fill you up for most of the day); the room was very clean; the water was soft; and the host's were the most wonderful people. Great experience....will return next year!

My wife and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this wonderful B&B. The breakfasts are really tasty, the rooms are clean and decorated nicely, and the owners are very friendly and charming people. The house is also very conveniently located between Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We will definitely be going to this place again next year. P.S. The Pine Cone Room is the least expensive room but it was still plenty big for us.
