The school house had such a wonderful historic feel to it much like spending the night in a cozy little museum. While we did make our own breakfast, the owners were very nice and friendly to us and even tried pointing us in the direction of other nearby landmarks such as Granddad's Bluff. My only issue with the place was the audibly creaky stairs leading to and from the sleeping area anyone could hear you coming from the living room area and you could easily wake someone downstairs when your going to the living room. Regardless the Wilson Schoolhouse retains much of its former history and it's owners have put alot of work in maintaining a piece of local history.

While I have never stayed here, I went to school here when it was a one room school with I believe 6 grades. The teacher prepared a hot lunch everyday nd the students were able to participate in making the menu for the next week. Believe this was in the late 40's or early 50's as I am now 79.

Excellent location for a large get together. Pretty close to La Crosse. Parking is kinda limited, so carpool. Has a large table for big board games, and a full kitchen for feasts and such. I kinda wish it had a newer TV, but that's really all it's lacking. Great place!
