Settle Inn La Crosse

The heater unit was very noisy and the refrigerator was no quieter. None of the rooms have a coffee pot and the coffee maker in the lobby was broken both mornings during my stay. The only alternative was to stop at a gas station for coffee. When I brought these issues up with management, they were very hostile in their response. They flat out refused to take care of their guests and did nothing to even try to right their wrong. In fact, the manager accused me of threatening him when I told him I would take my lodging needs elsewhere next time I was in town. There are many hotels in Lacrosse. I suggest you choose any one of them over the Settle Inn.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would! This place was rather decent until I had one of the worst experiences getting a room. Katie, the front desk lady was extremely rude, short tempered and refused to listen to my concerns about giving A PHOTO COPY of both my ID and Credit card. (Why would I have a problem with that? Gee, maybe because you can go and apply for almost any Credit Card in my name? Duh... And then to top it all off, she hangs up on me. Thank you Katie....Thank you so much, I would say that was the most amazing customer service. People stay away. These people are asking for copies of your personnel identity, to secure rooms. I've never had to give photo copies of my ID and my CC.... Policy or not that is how people steal money from people. #NOT WORTH YOUR TIME

Incredibly helpful staff. Nice clean rooms. GREAT shower! There was a big thunderstorm one of the nights we stayed with massive amounts of rain. It knocked out the power for several hours and messed up the water system so that there was brown water coming out of the toilet, sink and shower. The staff was patient and helpful to the extent that they could be. The rest had to wait on the city to straighten out the water supply issue. Once that was done, they quickly cleaned up any and all messes. I will definitely stay here again. Hopefully minus the thunder storm tho....

I heard decent things until I actually got there. Place looks OK until you get your room. Plus the staff were insulting. Just because I might have less money, doesn't mean I don't have any. Really? They were reluctant to give me a room and when I got there it smelled like piss. Yes, Like piss piss. I mean, like the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in months. I'd rather sleep out in the streets then go back there.

The hotel is located close to downtown LaCrosse with easy interstate access. The rooms were clean, comfortable and contained a small refrigerator. Reasonable rates for the event I attended.
