I enjoyed my stay. However, the overall appearance of the hotel is in need of some TLC. Our room, 413, the bathroom doorknob was barely holding on where I was worried I would get stuck in there. Also, there is mold on the ceiling of the bathroom above the shower that needs to get taken care of ASAP. I also found a long red hair on my pillow case when we checked in suggesting to me that most likely the pillowcases haven't been changed.
The person who checked me in announced my room number and gave directions to anyone listening in the lobby. the thermostat buttons were missing and I had to disassemble the thermostat to adjust the temperature the first morning's breakfast thtere were no eggs and everything was cold including the hot water for tea but the juice was warm. the Second morning There was nothing hot in the warmer again everything was cold including the hot water for tea and the coffee but the juice was warm. We went to the front desk to complain and were greeted by a Yo 'What's up. We were told the cook did not come in and the overnight person set up the breakfast before he left at six it was now after 8:15 we asked if they were going to cook anymore food and were told May Be
DO NOT book with this place!!! We were booted from our room on a Thursday for a Saturday and Sunday night stay. pipes burst. We were told they’d find us a different hotel, comparable room for the inconvenience. We were going to be in walking distance from our venue, that is no longer the case. We were also told they’d cover half the cost of the room due to the inconvenience on their part. That did not happen. We ended up paying full price for a room that was out of the way to our venue. So basically the only thing they did was to find us a different place to stay. We could’ve done that on our own. HORRIBLE customer service, do yourself a favor, run the other way from this place!!!!! I gave one star only because you need to to post a review.
Hotel is well kept and most the staff are helpful/friendly. However, we were charged over 600 for a 50 inch TV that we have no idea how it broke..nn2 weeks later we got a charged for 200 and they sent us pics of the tv. Between 3 people we had no problem paying for this. Then, they followed up a month later letting us know we have another 400 roughly to pay off.nnThis raised more red flags. They did eventually provide us with the receipt which we asked for a month prior but when we did ask how they know we did it versus someone else that stayed there within those two weeks before our first charge. They said housekeeping reported and documented this. I requested the documentation and the manager could not provide this.nnWe had no problem initially paying for a 50in TV that is split between 3 people, but when you try to tack on more and not even share the receipt until a month later. On top of that, can not provide documentation around the incident, it tells me the person overseeing this did not handle the process correctly. I would be weary of this before ever booking with Grandstay again. I come to LaCrosse a couple times a year to visit and will be staying away from the Grandstay now.
The best part of the stay by far was Tom. He was there only 2 mornings of the 4 I was but he went above and beyond to make sure we felt valued. He listened and acted on my concerns about the wifi, helped out with the TVs, made sure we were happy with breakfast, and more. He was a good guy; a pleasure to have run into.
