Checked out the off leash area for the first time with my dog in the early evening. About six medium size dogs were already running around, generally having fun. Gravel didn't seem to bother them nor did it bother my dog but the sun had not heated up the pebbles. Parking lot for the arena is also right beside the off leash area. We'll go back to check it out under different weather conditions.
Pretty good dog park. The park is splint for big and small dogs. It's generally clean people try to pick up after their dogs. They recently "renovated" the park so instead of grass and dirt they put small rocks. There is pros and cons to this. A good thing is your dogs paws won't be covered in mud and dirt after play time and when it rains the park won't get all gross and muddy. Bad thing is the rocks could be a bit rough for your pup's paws. Overall I like this park and so does my little pup!
Lots of gravel and only gravel. Though there is a huge path with grass outside of the dog area where you can walk with leash on. Would be nice if there was a grass area for off leash. Haven't been in summer but after reading some of the reviews here I don't think I'll bring the puppy back when it's too hot. Also would be a better view without power lines...
It seems like a good park with both small and large dog sections and both a good size. Landscape was nice with lots of benches on the outside of the area. Only issue is the gravel is hard to walk on and had to put pawz booties on for our little guy so he was comfortable. Other complaint was there was dog poop left in the areas by other owners... really inconsiderate. Otherwise great spot!
Fantastic park for small breeds. But beware that this park is not regularly maintained, and there are lots of poop inside the park. Also beware the ground is all pebble and can be hot for your dog’s paws.
Great dog park near a recreationally trail. The dog park is split into big dog area and small dog area. However, there's only tree cover in the small dog area.
The Pea Gravel hurts dog's paws and get hot in the sun. Also no water for the dog's to drink. Whomever designed this park should consider themselves lucky that I rated it 2 stars. Because it really isn't.
All gravel, nothing else! Make sure you put in sunblock if you are going here mid day. Keep an eye out for the occasional cigarette which has been tossed. Obviously not safe at all for puppies. People who visit are nice.
The park itself is fine as long as your dog is okay running around on pebbles/gravel, but watch out for owners who have absolutely no control over their dogs. My dog felt uncomfortable playing with this other dog that acted rather aggressive and she ended up biting my dog and me. Owner couldn’t even take the dog off of us so a passerby had to offer us hands to take my dog over the fence.
Pebble base is a better description then gravel as the stones a more rounded that what you usually get with gravel. Like others said, good option on wet days if you want to avoid mud. There's small and large dog area. Park is not very big and there's not much shade but it's right next to the power corridor park so you can just leash your dog go there for break or a walk.
