First time going to the Humber Bay dog park, honestly it's so beautiful for you and your pup to visit. The water and sunshine can't be beaten because you can see the whole city if you walk on the otherside. I noticed many dog walkers use this park, so I wouldn't recommend if your dog isn't so social. Unfortunately my puppy got hurt from another dog's aggression and it's kind of hard to stop when there's so many other dogs around. Besides that, the lake cools and dog down on a summer day and the lawn is nicely well kept. Pleased.
Huge park. Plenty of trail to walk whether you bike walk jog or just out with the dog. Sit by the water on a log and enjoy the peaceful surrounding. Lake Ontario at your feet with the site of the city across the water
It's a dog park. Fenced and bound by big rocks and water. The beach outside the fenced area is only used by dogs to swim but it's technically not an off leash area. Still, a great spot to let the dogs cool off.
I've been here twice over the years. Both times there was an abnormal amount of flies that look like house flies. I actually think they are stable flies though as they bite and made my White Swiss Shepherd ear bleed. You have to pay for parking if driving to this park. There is a beach area but it is very rocky. And overall, there are not many dogs there. This dog park is not the best and if in the area you might as well go to High Park or somewhere better then this one. However, if your dog has bad recall and doesn't play well with others - this park may be a good choice seeing as it is generally empty.
Great dog beach parking sucks though. The parking doesn't take away from a great place to catch some sun and for the pup to take a long swim on a hot day. Highly recommend this beach on a sunny day.
Beware there’s a big gap between where the fence meets the rocks where the entrance is. My husky mix obviously took off but luckily the surrounding area is a isolated path next to the water so dog can easily be retrieved. It’s a nice park just not as spacious as I thought it would be and not too many parking spots. Quite busy when I was here last summer. Wouldn’t come back as there are better, more secure dog parks in the city.
I can not give 5 starts only because the place is constantly dirty. Some people just don't care about this amazing beautiful place. The view of downtown is priceless and the fact that is leash free makes it great. Most of the people are nice and their dogs well behaved, great place to let your new dog to socialize and learn that Toronto is an amazing place to live.
It's my favorite local park in the Humber bay area. Great for quiet walks and also for people watching. It connects to the Martin Goodman trail, so it's a quick and easy side trip for those on bikes or rollerblades. There are a few pebble beaches with clear views of the city. Some decent easy walking paths. City does a good job maintaining the grounds. And it includes one of the best off leash areas in the city... One large enclosed area covered by a canopy of trees for good shading, and even a little beach that's unofficially known as the dog beach. The only thing I could complain about is that it's become a pretty popular park now, so it's often difficult or impossible to find parking on warm summer nights. Lucky for me it's a 5 min walk from my condo, but people visiting the neighborhood will probably need to park near the boat launch, which is a qp10-15 min walk to the best part of the park.
Located at the end of the westmost peninsula. This park has water on 3 sides of it. Beautiful views of lake Ontario and downtown Toronto. Great off leash area. Please note that it can get really muddy in the spring and fall. It can also get very windy. The is an unofficial beach for the dogs but remember it is not part of the off leash area as of yet. There are plans in the works for it to be added in a future enlargement. Limited Parking is available. Please pickup after your dogs.
The dog park and premises are clean. A nice play to take your pup.
