Story

The Whitebird Summit Lodge located on Seventy acres overlooking White Bird Canyon, the Camas Prairie and the Salmon River basin. Whether it be by foot, horse, boat or just plain relaxing, the adventure you undertake is up to you. Our goal is for our guests to escape the fast road of modern society if only for a moment and to depart us not as our guests but as our friends.

We had a wonderful time here, Frank and Terri are wonderful hosts. Our room was lovely, everything was clean and nice. Terri is a delightful lady who makes you feel right at home, Frank has wonderful stories to tell, and their horse riding guide Leia was excellent. Its a rural setting with the same country interior decor, if thats what you are expecting you'll love it.

This is a one of kind place that my 10 year old daughter, Abby, and I thoroughly enjoyed and hated to leave. Frank and Terri are wonderful hosts. The food is very good and the animals and grounds are terrific. My daughter is a horse lover and the horses at White Bird Summit Lodge are excellent. We did a guided overnight horseback ride to the remote Gilmore Ranch and really enjoyed it. We plan to return next year and I may even do a guided hunting trip. Keep in mind that the White Bird Summit Lodge is also very much a hunting lodge. They conduct high quality guided hunts, mostly during the fall, for elk, bear, deer, mountain lion and more. There are numerous mounted heads on the walls of the lodge from Frank's African safaris. According to the book Frank wrote about his African hunting, the 4,500 pound giraffe that he shot provided some 6,000 meals for local Zimbabwe people. If you are a horse lover and love to ride, or you have a child that loves horses and the outdoors, the White Bird Summit Lodge is a great place and I highly recommend it.

My time at White Bird Lodge was everything I expected and more!!! The lodge is amazing, hosts are genuine and hilarious, the view, atmosphere... I could go on and on about what a great time I had. If you've even thought about going here, look no further. You've found what you're looking for so have fun! I know I'll be going back ASAP! :)
