Enjoyed alot of hours here, loved the gym and pool. Learn to skate and also have taken my kids here for a variety of things. Hate to see it go, hopefully developers will replace it with something superior. My hope on developers are slim though.
Decent pool. Good size. Big deep end. I had a good swim ‍. And yes I would go back.
Pool is generally quiet and staff are nice, changing rooms could do with a better clean and refurb
great toilet. thank u for letting Me use the can when I get the runs skating
It is very quiet and I love the pool that I can use all year round.
Swimming lessons are great. There are a few different programs, but wish they had soccer programs for 12 year olds and art programs for 6 year olds
It’s a nice rink to skate at, but they should really clean the ice more often. The Zamboni cleaned the hockey rink but not the leisure rink for some reason when it was quite full of snow & dents… they should just Zamboni both ice rinks.
i go here to go swimming. there is only a fast and a slow lane. no medium lane, like some other community centres have. it can get kind of busy at times, but not overwhelingly so. the pool has all glass windows, so you can see outside which makes the room bright and feel less dingey. nothing fancy. pretty standard community centre. The centre has been less busy since the pandemic. Staff are very nice and helpful.
I am not sure about the other amenities but it has probably the best indoor swimming pool for kids. This review is specifically for swimming for young kids. We paid hundreds and hundred of dollars to swimming programs and they used school pools and they are terrible with cold water issues and showers have cold or no water and the instructors can do limited amount of teaching since half the time they are trying to convince one or three out of the five kids to come into the water. My daughter was three and we spent almost a year with that program. We decided to try Toronto parks and recreation drop in leisure swim and teach our kid ourselves. Wallace community centre has a pool that has warm water and steps for kids to walk into the pool and the showers have nice warm water all the time. It is free. After a few sessions, my daughter is actually learning to swim and going under the water. She is super excited to go swimming on the weekends. So, if you are able to teach your child how to swim and live nearby, it is worth it to try this pool since it does have leisure swim free at certain times of the week. My daughter is five.
The kids programs are good especially the early year program. My daughter really like the indoor active play in the gym. Big space, lots of toys and not so crowded. The water in the pool is nice warm perfect for baby and preschool age.
