My stars are for the ambiance & drinks only. We requested on multiple occasions to be seated to a vacant table by the waters, and got ignored by one, turned down by another, and then avoided after that. Ended up staying at the table that was right next to the speakers with loud music by my ears. We came here specifically for the views and ended up at a spot with no view at all. We still enjoyed the warm ambiance but it kind of ruined the mood for the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed their drinks, hence I still have stars left in the review! Their food was average, none come with sides so everything is basically ordered separately. It looks like our server was also the bartender so we never saw him again until we asked a couple times for the bill. Their service was definitely was not up there at all. Overall experience… “meh”
Nashville. Hot. Chicken. Sandwich. That’s all you gotta order. It’s crispy, full of flavour, and the juiciest chicken you’ll ever have in a sandwich. The sad part is is that I could probably eat 2 of them but it’s also a $12.50 sandwich We ordered the truffle fries and sweet potato fries to accompany the sandwich which was a great call. Appetizers were also tasty but I wouldn’t say “worth the bang for your buck”
My friends and I started off with the Jungle Bird Scorpion Bowl $37 and it was so fun and refreshing. It appears pricey upfront but it’s not bad at all when you split it. I personally got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich $12.50 and it was just as expected- spicy and delicious. The chicken portion was hefty and the slaw was a refreshing, balanced component to it. Lastly, parking can be validated up to 2 hours if you park right across the restaurant. Afterwards, it’s half off from the parking rate. Just make sure to bring the ticket for it to get stamped by the employee and then show it to the person working at the parking booth.
Ordered takeout, was impressed! It lived up to its high ratings. The cheese burger was my favorite. Tasted fresh, thin-medium patty, and tasted like traditional burgers. The burger was wide rather than tall unlike most places which I actually prefer. The Nashville chicken burger was not bad. It was a bit too spicy and salty, but it was fresh . Everything was packaged well and we'll put together.
Had excellent experience here. We ordered calamari, umbrella burger, chicken sandwich and slushieeverything was very tasty. Great location and view : and the weather was a plus to enjoy outside seating Tip: We parked our car across the street Dow's Lake Parking. If you have a stamp from Umbrella, you get 2hr free parking
Follow my food blog on Instagram for restaurant reviews: @mimi.munches! I cannot believe I did not check out UmbrellaBar before the pandemic started! I went and LOVED the cozy atmosphere hello, waterfront views, and the food! I found a few new favourites here, and will definitely be back! The dishes in these photos were from two visits, and they are: Ahi Poke $17: ahi tuna, edamame, crushed peanuts, cucumber, avocado, sesame, truffle-soy dressing, fresh ginger, taro chips, lettuce cups - I LOVE that this comes with taro chips AND lettuce! The fish was fresh and the flavour was light. A great appetizer! Mac N Cheese $14: smoked cheddar cheese sauce, Wisconsin brick melt finish - this came highly recommended, and I understand why, although I felt it could have been cheesier but I am also cheese-obsessed. Beef tartare $17: raw beef, classic garnish, toasted rosemary bread - the flavours of the tartare were good, although I wish it was not on bread but on crisps instead. Tacos $7/each: I tried the crispy fish and pulled chicken birria tacos! The Crispy fish was my preferred taco as the fish was fresh and crispy. Fried Chicken Sandwich $12: Southern fried breast, crinkle cut pickle, vinegar slaw, comeback sauce, buttery bun - this was my FAVOURITE new chicken sandwich. The chicken piece was thick, crunchy, and filled with flavour. I'm drooling thinking of it now - a MUST order! Another favourite drink of mine are milkshakes, and the one here $7 delivers! It was SO thick and rich - my new favourite milkshake to get! They have chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, strawberry, and cookies & cream. I tried a couple Mocktails all $6, but will definitely get a cocktail next time - their mocktails are beautiful, and flavourful too. Pro tip: if you want a table with views of the water, I highly suggest going early 5pm or earlier, as they do not take reservations at the moment.
I went two days in a row because I liked the place that much. Unfortunately the menu doesn't have many options and when it rains not all the umbrellas cover you well. Haha. Nonetheless the food is good, the view is beautiful. Must visit Vegetarian options: They have salads and veggie dumplings Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. You need to climb stairs
I loved the experience at this restaurant. The decoration is so tasteful even in the bathroom! The burgers were so delicious - definitely worth stopping by to try some.
Decent place and great location but poor quality and service. Not including that we were at about 30 degrees Celsius and no air conditioning. Waiters are nice but seem to be not trained properly. Food not good, drinks not good and watered down tequila. My drinks tasted like water and I talked to my waitress and she mentioned that drinks are measured. I went to the bar and talked to the bartender and said the same. He made me a new drink and it was the same. I ordered a tequila shot and it tasted like half water literally. I don't mind the poor drinks and price but please don't argue with a customer and LESS if the customer knows what he's talking about and not being rude at all. I sure I'll never come back.
A really neat place to go, especially if you can snag a spot on the patio. The food is tasty and the drinks are phenomenal. The mac and cheese was pleasant to eat, and the curly fries were a fun alternative to your average side of fries. I would highly recommend the Watermelon Daiquiri on a hot day. The only downside is that the nicest part of the patio the part that overlooks the water feels a bit crowded. That said, this place is busy for a good reason. I can't wait to come back for more cocktails in the sun.
