Wonderful little spot. The patrons were very nice and respectful of others at the bar. The staff is very friendly and seems to enjoy chatting about anything. The decor fits the size of the bar. Very well layed out and great for small to large groups. Great drinks at very reasonable prices. I will be returning with friends shortly.
Came with a fellow graduate student to grab some bites and a drink after work and was quite surprised when we found a fun waitress/bartender running the place. She checked up on us an appropriate number of times, and had great banter. The food was great despite it being a student bar. I'd recommend the bacon cheeseburger and frankly the rest of choices on the menu sounded like they'd be as good too. Big con though was their diet soda tasted like tonic water.
Definitely a dive bar, but in a nice way. Drinks are cheap and exactly what you'd expect from a university bar. Staff is friendly and give good service. Overall a great bar to hangout with friends at or for a pint after a long day.
This used to be my watering hole many years ago and I still can't believe it's still around. I have fond memories of this place; their poutines were outstanding, they had a great selection of beer on tap and very reasonable prices. If you don't mind the young, university crowd, it's a great place to meet people, play foosball and do some karaoke if they still have it around. The owner is a friendly gent who takes great pride on what he's built.
Having been a student in the UK, you guys don't know how good you've got it if this is considered a student dive bar! A Canadian was $7-8 and it was relaxed and had a nice buzz for a Wednesday night. Coming from a couple in their late 20s.
Wonderful little spot. The servers are always chatty and enjoyable to talk too. The decor is plain and simple, which matches the menu, but you cannot go wrong with the prices. This little bar probably has the cheapest priced beer in downtown Ottawa. Theres also a fossball table which is always used on Friday and Saturday nights. You can always jump in the game to compete with random people.
This is a great place to grab some beers with friends, the environment is great for groups especially for college kids. The staff is friendly too but I would avoid using the dragon bathroom as it's usually covered in pee, but that's not really the staffs fault one would hope.
Extremely rude bartender, was overwhelmed by the large group present in the establishment and did not know how to systematically serve everyone. She has absolutely no idea who ordered what, as a result orders were misplaced. Added a surcharge of 15% even thouch she did not come to our table AT ALL, she absolutely did nothing but punch in our order at the counter. Atmosphere was so frustrating that I had to go get my order from the window myself.
Cheap beer. Food is what you pay for. Not that great. Poutine is pretty decent though. Servers are nice. Good atmosphere for students.
They carry Creemore on tap and apparently their poutine is quite good. It's a student hangout so it can get quite noisy. I was in over the winter and the bartender was playing a pretty good prog station I'm a sucker for prog/krautrock so that was a plus.
