Honestly the worst service I have ever had in my life. They take forever to make your food and then are rude when you ask about it. From the minute you walk in you feel unwelcome, Especially if you are white and don’t speak French. I stopped coming here for 6 months because of the service. I came back today for the first time and although the service was 100% better, the food still took forever, because I knew the service was very slow in the past, I ordered my food for pick up and then waited30 minutes to go and pick it up. I still had to wait another 20 min. That’s 55 minutes I waited for my food. My advice is to always have someone at the front. It’s getting better but stil a lot of work to do

The worst food I have ever eaten. We ordered chicken and a fish dish. We got beef that was like leather with no seasoning. Rice was a week old. We through it in the garbage.

Every time I visit Ottawa, I have to get Haitian food as Toronto doesn’t have many spots. I walked in and the lady at the front was not only RUDE but ignored me and took peoples order that came after me because they spoke French and I didn’t. I walked right out!!!! I will NEVER go back there again.

Stop supporting this nonsense! I have been going to Lucien for years and had hoped with recent talk with new management that my experience would finally be good. BUT NO!!!! Today, We pre-ordered and were told that the food would be ready in 15 min! the usual BS!!! When we arrived the older female employee acted as though it was the first time we’d spoke..She was rude and unprofessional. She acted as if i had disturbed her sleep. I will not return. There are other options in the region. We need to stop going there and hit them where it matters. "the bottom line"! until such time, this place will always leave you scared angry and h'angry! This is NOT normal and we need to stop supporting this nonsense!

The food is fantastic! It’s probably the best griot platter you can find in the city. I won’t lie, the customer service isn’t always great they can be pretty slow and the restaurant is in a rundown area, not super pretty inside, but it’s more of a “hole in the wall” takeout spot than fancy dining establishment. Call in advance, don’t be in a rush and expect incredible food at a good price. The restaurant is always full of people waiting to get an order, especially Haitians. You know it’s good when a restaurant specializing in an ethnic group’s food is popular with people of that same ethnic group. Soleil des Îles reminds me of those memes online that say if the restaurant is packed and there’s no bells and whistles, the food will be delicious. It’s true in this case.

Trust me it’s better to go elsewhere. I have tried to support this place but they make it impossible. Rude service is an understatement, decor is terrible, & the food may be good at times but it’s not consistent. I’ll stick to other Haitian restaurants that apply the basics of customer service.

I've been eating here for years and I've decided today that I'm done. Rude, slow and not that great to continue receiving poor service. I highly recommend Bon Goût in Orleans. The food is made on time and their debit/credit machine always works. They also greet you and thank you for your business which was never something I felt going to Soleil des Iles.

The food used to be so good before but the quality has gone down a bit. Too salty! The customer service is Terrible. Yesterday, people waited over an hour for their food. Even the ones who called ahead. They need to be more organized and hire more staff. They need to care about their customers more. They are known for having the best Haitian food so they don't practice customer care properly.

Called got told we don’t speak English and hung up on. So called and tried to speak French got hung up on. Showed up in person, took my Order and walked away before I could finish ordering. I asked how much not a clear answer took my 60 bucks for 2 goat plates and a pork plate no drinks. This place was a former favourite of mine. Are there over ten years . The service was friendly and courteous. The quality has gotten worse since the new people took over. I will be finding another place to go to. I can see why these restaurants do not last here. Not very welcoming atmosphere and rude service. Food is delicious but not worth the hassle.

The food isn't the problem here, the customer service is some of the worst I've ever seen, its always someone in the front who barley speaks English and they have an attitude, like me ordering food from them is a problem. Is it that hard to hire someone who is fluent in English/French and are welcoming and polite? Do you know how much you're business will improve just off that alone? I've been coming here for years, but I just can't anymore, with the 30 minute wait for a small plate, and then dealing with the attitude from the staff. Like i said the food is amazing but you guys need to seriously have a staff meeting and fix this ASAP, I've never seen such a lack of effort in customer service with all due respect.
