Uli's Restaurant

Had my birthday dinner at Uli’s while exploring White Rock with some friends from Calgary.nnWe ordered glasses of beer, mussels in garlic and white wine, paella, Oysters Rockefeller, sablefish, vongole, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse.nnThe paella could have been a little drier and more burnt, and it didn’t seem like it was cooked in a traditional paellera. It did have some good flavor, though. The sablefish was tasty but quite expensive. The vongole came with chorizo and clams, but unfortunately, I couldn’t really taste the clams. The mussels in garlic and white wine were good, we especially enjoyed dipping the bread in the sauce. We also loved the cinnamon cheesecake and chocolate mousse.nnOverall, the food was just okay, but what really made the experience pleasant was the service from Olivia. We were also lucky enough to get a table overlooking the beach, so we had a beautiful view of White Rock throughout dinner.nnI wouldn’t mind coming back to Uli’s, especially if we can get the same great service and a nice view of the beach.nnThe ambiance was festive, and surprisingly, the restaurant was full on a Thursday night.nnWe paid $308, including tip, for four people

As relatively new residents to White Rock we experienced Uli's for the first time and we were celebrating our 34st anniversary.nThere were several items both my husband and I were undecided on. We decided to try a new appetizer on their menu. It was 4-5 of the most likely breaded onion wings sitting on top of the most delicious dip with everything bagel sprinkled on top. Then I had the Ull's 2.0 burger as we had heard they had excellent burgers and everything we heard was correct. My giant had the Reuben which he said was excellent. For dessert we were treated to a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. We chose the cheesecake which was excellent.nEverything on the menu is locally sourced and tasted so fresh.nnOur server was Dean who has been at Uli's for 7 years. Very friendly and provided excellent service.nnThank you Uli's for a very nice evening with a waterfront view.

Great food from scratch right on the harbour! Had lunch here with family and we really enjoyed our meal. Quality ingredients made to perfection. Service was good too.

It is highly possible that this might be the best burger I have ever tasted. Absolutely incredible. The flavours were this diverse conglomerate of palate explosives that coalesced into a perfectly unified—albeit unique—whole.nnMy wife and I are celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks, and wanted a Friday night date, and got a delectably lovely one.nnBecause we had booked for outside, Jenny the host made sure we were topnotched on that front. And our server didn’t get her name but she is the very sweet one with the 70’s glasses who is marrying the sous chef in August was kind and adorable. Thank you.nnI had been wanting to come here for years and just never got around to it, even though I was well aware that they had won best burger in the Lower Mainland some years ago.nnI ordered the 4.0 on a GF bun because I have to with the house salad, which in itself was incredible and the adulting refusal of fries for greens paid off no matter how tempting it had been to not make that move. My wife ordered the New York strip loin, medium well as she prefers, and loved it. The extra seasonable vegetables and the side of mushrooms were so tasty.nnWe have lived in the area for 31 years and shortly will be relocating to another province, but when we return intermittently to see family, we will definitely be back for this abundant feast.nnWell done, Uli’s team!

Visited yesterday with a group of 4. Unfortunately, our experience started off rough as our 8:30 PM reservation with requested patio seating we had a dog with us was forgotten, and we didn’t get seated until 9 PM.nOur server Dean was amazing though — super friendly, enthusiastic, and did his best to make up for everything.nThe food was disappointing overall. Oysters tasted off, the grilled sockeye salmon portion was very small for the price, and the 4.0 burgers came completely red/raw inside. Dean replaced my burger, removed it from the bill, and even brought beer samples and free dessert, which we appreciated.nGreat service from Dean, but sadly the food didn’t meet expectations and I probably wouldn’t return.
