Fantastic multi-purpose facility for all ages, including wheelchair accessibility! Filled with friendly, helpful staff that always go above and beyond for their members. After countless tours and gym visits, I have finally found my home facility for the downtown core. Not only is this the largest facility, it is considerably cheaper than most commercial gyms in the area. This location boasts many amenities including, but not limited to: Full sized basketball court, indoor track, private /group studios, child care, lounge, 25 meter pool, whirlpool, steam room, workout equipment, cycling studio, change rooms for families and both genders, outdoor garden area with seating, one on one personal training and more! It is spacious and well designed, as it is newly constructed within the last 5 years. It is rare you will ever have to wait to use a piece of gym equipment, even during peak hours. They are constantly adding new equipment for their members just last week two new squat racks, and a multipurpose machine. There are also frequent surveys that offer members to voice their opinions on what would improve their experience. My only gripe is occasionally the water pressure in the showers isn’t the greatest, but this makes sense as the sheer number available to use. There are more than enough lockers for everyone. If you are looking for a new facility, come stop in and get a free tour, you won’t regret it! : They also offer “bring a buddy”, so if you know someone who holds a membership you can experience it for free for a day!
The gym was built in 2015 for the Pan Am Game. It is ample and has fairly new equipment. Usually not busy and the staff is friendly. No parking in the facilities, but there is a streetcar stop right in front of it and a bike share spot across the street.
Great physical space but whoever manages this facility should be fired. Front and back office staff are downright incompetent. I have had several issues getting my membership, renewing and registering for classes. No one is capable of resolving any issues, they keep forwarding your problem to someone else. My credit card was overcharged by front desk staff and it took months of complaints to head office to get a refund. It's a shame they don't hire more competent people to work here. It seems like staff are just there to hang out and use free internet to be on their phones and social media.
It's a great place to workout, it has everything. The staff is very friendly. I am giving it 5 stars, but just one negative comment: people should say hi. It's very hard to make social contact here. We need that in life :
VERY RUDE FRONTDESK STAFF! Today they ignored me and insult me. Managers don’t seem to care, because they ignore our continuous feedback. They should be trained or fired! They treat people like garbage even if you’re the nicest person. ONLY exception a couple of Black males — they’re okay!
My review is going to be strictly from a weight training perspective. There is a pool, multipurpose court that is used for basketball, volleyball, badminton and group classes - however I have never used those. The gym part of this facility is very good. It's bright, clean, and the equipment is in good condition. There are lots of cardio equipment and weight training machines with an indoor track around the perimeter. There are 3 squat racks and a Smith Machine, 2 flat bench, 2 incline bench, no decline benches. A fair amount of standalone benches and a large selection of dumbbells. It gets busy at around 4:00 PM and is quiet in the mornings and late at night. My only complaint is access to the squat racks. There are sometimes members, who hog the rack while they do "circuit training" - meaning they use the rack, leave and do 2 or 3 exercise else where and still claim ownership. Slight annoyance but not a major issue.
Large area. Needs more gym equipment. Would be nice if they open at 5am so people can use the weights before work
Great gym. The pluses Section has a steam room and a Jacuzzi very beautiful
Wednesday soccer game is full of racist gym members and the black guyWednesday gym attendant is so anti-black .I think the Wednesday program needs to be scrapped off until members learn, are taught or sign agreements not to be racist.
Great facilities , helpful staff and good variety of classes! Lisa, Amy, David, Emilie and Donavan are teaching great yoga classes , cycling classes are full of energy. Classes on the rooftop during the summer season are my favorite.
