Saturday 6pm reservation, table for three. Did not have to wait long to get our table. Ordered, Sable Fish, Pork Chop, Rack of Lamb, Beef Carpaccio, 2X Lobster Bisque, Escargot, 2X Foie Gras and one dessert.nnService was great. Food was good.nnAfter we placed the order, the escargot came within 5 minutes. Very fast service, BUT, the escargot was in room temperature, the garlic sauce was warm enough, but the meat itself was a bit of a disappointment in temperature. Yes I am using the word WARM.nnother then that, my first bite of the lamb had a bit more salt then I expected. The rest was good.nnthe pork chop and Sable fish was very good.nnit was my first time there and the overall experience was good.nnoh, free street parking was another bonus.
The atmosphere, regular burger, mushroom veggie burger, and truffle fries were such hits. Note we had to specifically ask for the patty to be veggie, by default the mushroom birder is beef.nnThe whole thing was such a perfect vibe for a special, but relaxed meal with family. Also honestly I don't think back to food from restaurants all that regularly, but I have thought about that veggie burger and truffle fries perfect shareable for our group of four a few times in the past week.nnThe decor was something the whole group was pleased with and the place was comfortable. Staff were also friendly and we would totally come again.
This is my go to breakfast spot whenever I’m in town! Staff is always so lovely and sweet, amazing food and portions. I always get the clam chowder here it is sooo good. Careful the soup portions are huge- it’s an entire meal on its own.nDuck confit is great so tender it melts! This plate is more on the sweeter side because of the cranberry sauce so if you’re more of a savoury foods type of person I wouldn’t recommend getting this.nThe chicken is apparently very crisp and juicy!nI seafood bisque was good but got pretty boring half way into eating it.
Story Cafe is a charming, photo-worthy gem in Richmond known for its beautifully plated dishes and whimsical vibes. It’s related to Story Cafe – Sequel in Vancouver. Both soups, each full of flavour and satisfying in its own way. The lobster bisque was rich and aromatic, while clam chowder was hearty and comforting. The escargot was baked in garlic butter and honestly, dipping that brioche into the garlicky butter was the perfect combo. So simple, so good. The risotto came topped with perfectly cooked seafood that was well seasoned. The rice was slightly firmer than my personal preference, but overall still enjoyable. The oxtail was deeply flavoured, rich, and beautifully tender. Overall, a lovely dining experience with solid service and thoughtfully executed dishes.nn• Lobster Bisque - lobster meat, crème fraîche , lumpfish roe, pepperolio, Grand Marniern• Garlic Escargot - baked with garlic butter and Parmigiano Reggiano, mushroom served with brioche loafn• The Story Clam Chowder - baby clams, yukon gold potatoes, bacon and tarragonn• Signature Risotto - seared tiger prawns, Hokkaido scallops, broccolini, housemade pesto, Parmigiano Reggianon• Red Wine Braised Oxtail - slow-braised oxtail with roasted shishito peppers and carrots, finished with a rich red wine jus over a turnip and cauliflower purée
A small cafe in a pretty random area in Richmond. They are pretty popular for their brunch menu, we waited around 30 minutes to get a table. The restaurant is small and feels crammed. The place was full and loud. The food was good, the chocolate croissant was especially good. The matcha was also good.nnThe toilet location is very strange, there is only one stall. And you are blocking the path to the kitchen when waiting.nnThe aesthetic is cute and rustic.
