I stopped in for the classic Swedish meatballs and gravlax and, as usual, was not disappointed.nnThe food is consistently fresh, the staff are attentive, and the overall experience is always enjoyable. The dining area is spacious, clean, and especially pleasant if you can grab a table by the windows.nnThere is something about IKEA's restaurant that reminds me of the old Woolworth luncheonettes. Not exactly the same, of course, but it has that simple, welcoming feeling where you can sit down, enjoy a meal, and take a break from the day.nnThe value is excellent, which is one of the reasons I find myself stopping in regularly. In fact, there are times when I visit IKEA specifically for lunch or a snack rather than to shop.nnMaybe part of it is nostalgia, but if they've managed to build that feeling into the experience, I'm perfectly happy to pay for it. Good food, good value, and a comfortable place to sit and relax. I'll definitely be back.
Food was great for not a typical restaurant - better than fast food. We come to this ikea regularly at least once per month, but we actually had never had a proper dinner here. The new menu was surprisingly good. The cod balls were so good that we were searching for it if they sold it as a freezer item, but disappointed they did not sell it. The plant based meat balls were also great and well balanced with all other ingredients of the nachos dish. Surprisingly what we normally got as a snack - garlic bread - was not that good that day. It was overly dry and not as flavourful as it used to be.
Great experience at IKEA Richmond! The store is well organized, staff are friendly, and it’s easy to find what you need. Checkout was smooth and efficient. Always enjoy shopping here.The restaurant is convenient and enjoyable spot to eat. The service is organized, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Definitely adds to the overall IKEA experience.
Started lining up on a Friday afternoon around 2:15pm. End up finished paying around 2:40pm. ordered the meatballs. I actually wanted the soup and garlic bread as well but the service is just TOO slowz so I gave up. There was a big line up for food but the cashier actually wasn't that busy at all.nFinished my meal, walking out with my head shaking. lesson learned.
Staff were quick to put our food together. However, for a first time visit it is a little confusing about the drink system. That you are to first grab a glass, pay for it where you pay for your food, then fill it up at the machine. It is called a fountain drink, but it is a small glass. I feel like a to-go cup will be more beneficial and efficient.
