Went there to get our Taiwanese craving but was disappointed.nnFirst off the parking lot is really not the greatest and following that we were asked to order with the app and then we did…. But it had issue to someone went to check in on us and realized it wasn’t working.nnHad to follow up on our food and finally it came. It wasn’t really that amazing and there wasn’t really service so not sure why we still was asked to tip if it’s self service.nnThe deep fried fish cake forn$15 was not good and was overpriced. We just ate a few pieces and was just not good at all.nnI think it’s nice decor and washroom is clean but not the best dining experience.
This was so beautiful!!! The ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant were top-notch. Unbeatable. The restaurant does get a little crowded but we did not have any issues finding seating.nnIn true Taiwanese fashion there are so many dish options to choose from which made me very happy! The food was reasonably priced for the quality and care it was put into it. Delicious all around. Me and my boyfriends were very happy about it!
We visited this location last October after having great experiences at their other branch, and we were excited to introduce some traditional Taiwanese food in Vancouver to my wife’s family visiting from Taiwan.nnWe arrived close to closing time and were seated without any issues. However, when we poured hot tea into the plastic cups provided, one of the cups cracked and suddenly burst. It was quite shocking—thankfully no one was hurt. What disappointed us was the staff’s reaction. They treated it very casually, simply asking us to move tables while they cleaned up, without much concern or apology.nnThe food arrived quickly, but most dishes tasted more like pre-prepared items rather than freshly cooked. The flavors were just okay and didn’t quite match the authentic taste we were hoping for. I felt a bit disappointed having chosen this restaurant for a special welcome meal.nnPrices are also on the higher side, with a strong expectation for higher tip percentages. Overall, the experience didn’t meet our expectations, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
I was looking for an authentic Taiwanese restaurant in the Vancouver area and happened upon Memory Corner due to its positive online reviews. The overall experience was deeply disappointing and I do not recommend. While the decor was reminiscent of my travels to villages in Taiwan, the service was non-existent and the food did not taste authentic at all. I can forgive poor service to an extent if the food is good, but both were lacking here.nnWhen you walk in, a host seats you and gives you a pot of tea, and that is basically where the service ends. You're told to scan the QR code at the table and self order online--no opportunity to ask questions about any dishes you may be curious about. Food is dropped off once ready and no one stops by again until it's time to pay the bill which you need to wave them down for, and then the server hovers over you looking to see how much you will tip when you pay. I would have given them $0, but my dining companion is much kinder.nnFor food, we ordered the beef wrapped with scallion pancake and the braised meat pork noodles. The pancake was decent, could have been crispier. The noodle dish was edible. To their credit, the noodles themselves were cooked well, they had a great texture, but the overall dish did not taste authentic at all--sauce was watery, bland, and too sweet--did not taste like what I've eaten in Taiwan before.
Was here on Friday evening and always have to line up, but luckily we came just before 615 and got seated rather quickly. Had a peak what other tables were ordering and many had the mixed Fried platter with popcorn chicken, long bean, blood cake, mushroom, fish cake tempura, so we went with that. The dish was not overly seasoned and not oily, with a mix of texture and juiciness. Extremely enjoyable with the chili powder and iced Oolong milk tea. The stir fried satay rice noodle was also tasty, but the Haika style stir-fry was only ok - have had better versions in the city. Should have stick with the Stir fried pork with peeled chili that we ordered last time - that was very tasty.
