I enjoyed the food I ordered – spice level was good and creamy. Service was really bad though. They made us wait nearly half an hour to be seated when there was a table available, and then not-so-subtly kicked us out for eating late. And watch the tip they charge back to your card if you dine in and pay with a credit card.
Ordered for takeout, and the food was decent. The garlic naan was tasty. I think everything is a little pricey for the amount of food I ordered. You can definitely get more quality and quantity at other Indian restaurants. But worth the try, I guess. Vegetarian options: They have tons of vegan and vegetarian options
Found this place randomly while looking for Indian places near me and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and was just the right amount of spicy. The flavors were great and the prices were reasonable. I would go out and even say it might be the best Indian food for the price in Chicago. Definitely gonna be my go to Indian restaurant.
Ordered using their website and picked up my order at their takeout window. I asked for the chicken vindaloo to be extra spicy and they made it as such - the downside to the dish was that there was no actual flavor to the food and ended up eating something that was only spicy and not something that was good and spicy. Might try again with a different dish and spice level but we’ll see.
Yo, this was surprisingly really good. I was not expecting anything because I'm usually meh about Indian food after being spoiled by my South Asian friends. I enjoyed everything I had.Food: 5/5
Firstly: Found multiple eyelashes in my rice. Also the food was incredibly salty/spicy, and i asked over the phone what on their menu was dairy-free, they told me, i ordered it and was extremely bloated and couldn’t move. Not sure if I was dosed with dairy, it was the spices, or their sanitation practices made me sick, but avoid this place.
We had a reservation. I thought the place was closed. The attendant slid open the take out window . I had to let them know I had a reservation. They opened the door . I think it might be Covid protocol It's BYOB. The food is great. The prices are reasonable.
Contrary to the favorable reviews my food was sub par. Was very disappointed. 1 ordered chicken Tikka masala - received butter chicken. Know the difference - it's NOT the same. 2 chicken was dry, chewy and way over cooked. Maybe it's an off day but Def NOT worth the visit, specially in Chicago. 3sauce was 'okay' at best. Garlic Naan was passable.
Great tasting Indian food BUT the portions were ridiculously small. But the process sure weren't low. The naan was amazing. The paratha too but the price forces me to go to Devon Street for food just as delicious but a better value. If there were four small chunks of chicken in each chicken dish, that was a lot!!! If servings had been fairer for price, I would have given them another star.
This is currently my favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago. With that said, a few minor issues. While the staff is wonderful and accommodating, the gentleman giving our table water filled our glasses every time anyone took a sip. This is great, don't get me wrong, so much better than desperately needing some water and not having any, but maybe just provide some pitchers for the table instead of leaning over my plate every 2 minutes? Also, I noticed while my dining companions bowls were filled nearly to the brim with their orders, mine could have used another ladle or two. For the price and amount of food we ordered I think the kitchen could afford to be a tad more generous in the portions. Mine was mostly sauce and very sparse on chicken. Finally, we waited an incredibly long time for someone to both take our orders and bring us the check. Aside from that, we all had a great time and will definitely dine here again.
