This was a phenomenal meal we just had there at the buffet. The buffet was extremely impressive, I got through two whole times of going up and back and I went up a third time for dessert mango ice cream only to find there was a whole other section of food I hadn’t even seen, but it was too late, I was already full. It didn’t matter though because what I had already had was extremely satisfying. My sister-in-law is vegetarian and she said she was able to find a number of options that worked for her. The service was quick and attentive. We promptly received refills on drinks which was helpful. Overall I can’t say enough and I will be back as soon as I can, maybe for another upcoming special occasion? Thank you, India House!
A very good Indian restaurant with lot of options to choose from. The service is very customer friendly as well. I have been there twice and liked it both the time. Definitely a go if you are in downtown and looking for authentic Indian dine in option.
Tried their lunch buffet on a weekend , it was great . The place is very well decorated . The quality and the quantity of food was great as well . The only thing I didn't like was the platter of tandoori chicken that was given tasted odd. It also had a lot of color. Except that the place was nice . Kudos to the server for being nice and providing a hot towel at the end .
This restaurant is one of the famous Indian Restaurants in Chicago City. The ambiance was good. The restaurant was fully packed being a Saturday. We had a reservation so it wasn’t bad. But still we had to wait for 15-20 mins to get seated. The server - Dhiraj was very good. We stated with Taj Mahal Beer and some appetizers. In appetizers, we ordered Paneer Tikka : It was served on a hot plate and it was really good. It wasn’t dry and had really good taste. Mixed Pakora: They were fine too. Not too great. Masala Fries: Those were regular fries like you would get from McDonalds. Its a waste of money. Pani Puri: it was served in really good style. It was good too. For the Main Course we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala: I didn’t eat that but everyone who ate it said it was very very good. Chana Masala: they were good too garnished with Chopped onions and green chilies. Oh yeah to my surprise, such a famous Indian Restaurant did not have Indian Green Chillies and were serving Jalapeño. Dal: it was actually good too. Unlike i have tried in restaurants. Kadhai Paneer: I didn’t like the sauce / gravy of the Kadhai Paneer but it was okay. Vegetarian Biryani: it was served with Raita. The flavor was actually good. Basket of Bread: its always a good option if you have more people on your table. Overall, I would recommend this place.
Delicious delicious delicious Service VERY ATTENTIVE Atmosphere Warm, welcoming, cozy great for family, couple, friends or even a place for a work lunch or dinner. Portions enough to eat there & take some to go! If ever back in Chicago it’s the 1st place we will visit again Added worth mentioning the warm lemon on the side OMG I had to ask for some to go
The service was impeccable! Sangit was impeccable!!! Indian house gave us authentic flavor, mouth watering, phenomenal food, and drinks! Kudos to all the staff, from our waiter Sangit who greeted us with a welcoming smile even its 20mins before closing of the kitchen. The chef who made our food fresh and delicious! Our drinks are delicious too. They mean business! This restaurant is awesome! This is by far the most delicious Indian food I've ever tasted and as a food and restaurant reviewer in the world, I'm also one of the Top 10% restaurant reviewer in Chicago every week/month for the last 5 years consecutive as Google said so. Yes, we Looove to eat and dine, like finding hidden gems. We came here 9:10 pm after being tired walking around the city enjoying the parade, and also looking for a nice restaurants that can still accommodate us. Most restaurants kitchen are closed an hour before they really close and has lazy employees. Thanks to them, we came across the Indian House that has good ambiance and a very nice restaurant. They gave us the experience and food that we are craving for last night. The staff were thoughtful too and asked if we would like to keep the window open. Sangit gave us wet towelettes to clean our hands after we ate. Thoughtful than the last Michelin stared restaurant that we ate at. We will definitely come back! Highly recommended ! Vegetarian options: They have a great selection of vegetarian menu. Kid-friendliness: Safe and spacious to bring your kid/s. Parking: Street parking outside and around the area Wheelchair accessibility: The door was wide and it's wheel chair accessible. Dietary restrictions: You can always ask them about your specific dietary restrictions and plans. They can modify your food for you.
Amazing restaurant with great taste . We went in the afternoon for buffet and had various options to choose from. Starters had samosa followed with many different veg and non veg curries, biryanis, plain rice and 2 desserts. Ambience is really good and staff is very friendly. Our server Sanket was super friendly and helpful. He made sure we got hot rotis and Naan on the table. Highly recommend this place if you are in downtown Chicago
India House serves excellent food from across India in this River North restaurant. Bhelpuri, typical of that from the street vendors of Mumbai, was a perfect start to the meal on this hot summer evening. I followed this with Chicken Tikka Masala, which was delicious. But way too much food. The naan was unusually good, with just a bit of crispness. The ambience is comfortable, although the noise level is high.
I had buffet here today. Everything is below average. No salt or spices or any taste. If you are craving for INDIAN FOOD, don’t go here. I had to waste everything I got on the plate. Feel very bad for wasting so much food and money. I doubt if anything was freshly cooked. By the time I went for desert even ice cream was completely melted and when requested they gave old tasted ice cream. Nobody even cared if we liked the food. WASTE OF MONEY!
India House offers a $20 weekend buffet filled with delicious food. Soo good. Your stomachs will leave happy.
