The Royal Oak - Stittsville

Great evening with 15 of us celebrating a 70th birthday party. It was a fun atmosphere and we weren't rushed out but must say they were a bit overwhelmed as drinks took a while to come. In fairness, there was also an even larger party for a 50th birthday party on top of regular clients and the servers were quite young so likely inexperienced but very pleasant.nnThey allowed us to bring our own birthday cake in too. Also, there was some confusion at the end of the night for who was paying for what.nnHouse wine was great and so was the Whisky Sour. We had the Butter Chicken and Grilled Salmon that were hot and delicious. Plenty of parking. This is definitely a place I'd come back too whether for a meal or for drinks to watch a game and play darts.

Got the lobster roll during their Lobsterfest event, which we weren't the biggest fans of. Tasted more like a generic seafood salad roll. Loved the side salad though, which was very fresh. The happy hour specials here are pretty good, can't go wrong with their spinach & artichoke dip.

Terrible experience overall. Fish and chips were a huge letdown. Mostly thick breading with dry fish inside. Could not even finish it. The Oreo cheesecake was the only good part. Service was just as bad. We were barely checked on and waited forever just to get the cheque and leave. Spent over $65 for a meal, dessert, and drink. Way too overpriced and not worth it.

Loved the wings and antejitoes and tried a fantastic summer cocktail, the Blueberry Negroni sour! Amazing creative cocktail!

Our office decided to order lunch from the Royal Oak for a business meeting, we’ve eaten there before and it’s always a favourite. We get take out, but the food is still warm by the time it gets back to the office.nnI usually get the spicy buffalo chicken wrap but get the cauliflower substituted for chicken. The wrap is always flavourful, and usually has the perfect amount of sauce in the wrap and this was no exception. The fries are good, but the true star of the dish is the wrap.nnMy colleagues ordered salads, one ordered a goat cheese and walnut salad with chicken and the other ordered a garden salad. Both salads were fresh, with bright greens. I liked that they packaged the dressing so you can decide the amount of dressing and so the greens stay fresh. The goat cheese was panko crusted and smelled amazing.nnAll together, another wonderful lunch from The Royal Oak. Happy to have some great options in Stittsville!
