I stopped in closer to 9pm and sat at the bar. I intended to order take out but the raptors game was close so I stayed. Ordered the chicken roti and it was exceptional. I loved every bite, plus it’s huge! Probably even better to share. Great vibes! Cold beer! Excellent food
My wife and I ate at the restaurant. As a Jamaican I know authentic Jamaican food when I taste it and The Real Jerk has great authentic Jamaican food. I had the Cod fritters, Jerk chicken and oxtail combo with rice and peas and coleslaw and it was good. Our server Tokeem was on point with his suggestions and service. Overall I would say the food, service, and atmosphere are as on point!
Delicious food, great atmosphere, good drinks. Visiting from the States & decided to try this restaurant. It has become one of the highlights of the trip! Also one of the BEST Pattie’s I’ve ever had. $5 shots after 9pm also!!Food: 5/5
Really wanted to like this place more. They play good music, but the service is slow, my food took too long to come out, and for the price I was paying it didn’t seem like enough. The food does taste good but what I got wasn’t worth it, I’d say skip the oxtail and just go for the jerk chicken..
The chicken roti was so delicious! We’ll definitely come back to try other items on their menu!
Went for a late dinner with my wife, overall good. Food came out hot, service was great, oxtail was missing the butter beans, sorry but that’s mandatory in oxtail. Chicken soup was on point, plantain was not sweet :. Real Jerk is tried and tested Jamaican in Toronto. I had to take away a star because the lack of butter beans in the oxtail. Also, what’s a Jamaican restaurant without mackerel?
Beautifully out together. Great atmosphere and I'll be there each and every sundae hosting an open mic and party from 6 to 11 pm! Great place to be overallService: 5/5
The worst jerk chicken I’ve ever tried! It was dry AND tasteless! I’ve tried countless jerk chicken/Caribbean spots in the GTA, including their Gerrard location which left me very satisfied. I’m not one to leave a bad review if I just didn’t like the food, but I genuinely believe there was something objectively and alarmingly wrong here. I asked the server if there was an error in my order because if I could excuse the dryness, not even the chicken skin tasted like it had any jerk seasoning. The proof: my tongue usually burns a little when I order jerk chicken at their Gerrard location. Absolutely nothing here. The server said they do things a little differently here compared to the Gerrard location. Clearly.
Had a great experience here, last night. Definitely much different than walking into your regular Caribbean, take out spot..This is a sit down full menu, full bar restaurant. They have a dj after 9pm playing great music. However I found the music to be a little loud, as we were eating and shouting to hear each other. But the music was amazing none the less. And it was obviously a weekend vibe. The food was really good. I had the oxtail dinner. Portion sizes were actually very large. I definitely was surprised at the quantity. The price for an oxtail meal with two sides was about $23 cheaper for jerk chicken, and many other dishes which which was very reasonable. The oxtail was very tasty. I got a rum punch and it was definitely fresh. It had a lot of fruit pulp in it, so if you don't like pulp don't get it. But I loved it. Staff was great and attentive. This is definitely a spot to become a regular at! Really nice addition to college street and definitely much needed!!
The space is phenomenal and the high ceilings takes your eyes on a journey. With the spacious layout, seating at the bar by myself with a great vantage point of everybody and things, from the lively streets of lil italy and the cosy comfy quite pockets on different levels for just 2 or your crowd or group's night out on the town either starting with drinks or closing with some good Caribbean food both tasty and caresses the tastebuds that takes you back to Jamaica or any other islands you have had fond memories.
