I hosted my husband's 40th birthday! Ray, Kate & Jason + the rest of the team at The Pleasant are so very professional and made the whole process of party planning much easier! Food was exceptional - they really considered how things were served so nothing was soggy etc - something I didn't have the experience to even think about. Drinks: There is an extensive craft beer list, wines, & unique and yummy cocktails - something for everyone! Private room: The venue was great, we had the big private room 14' ceilings, which was perfect for the kiddos. Everyone had a great time, and most importantly the birthday boy did. Party planning is not easiest and they made it very "pleasant" @ The Pleasant : Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!
Our Sunday afternoon break took us to the Pleasant on Main Street. We were hoping to dine on the sidewalk with our dog but learned we would not be served alcohol. The owner/manager solved that problem and allowed us to dine inside and watch our dog via an open door. Perfect. The Pleasant is a spacious restaurant. The drink/beer menu has quite a few offerings. We tried a strawberry blonde and rainbow road. Both were yummy. The burger and wings were good. The coated fries were a nice touch. The star of the show is the pork belly tacos. I liked the pickled vegetables on top. We received excellent service today and look forward to coming back again to try the rest of the menu.
One of my very favourite bars in Vancouver. The staff is friendly and attentive and unreasonably good-looking and helpful with any questions you may have about their impressive beer list. The food menu is diverse but doesn’t feel disjointed. Whoever the chefs are, they’re killing it. They play great music and they even show the sports shows for those who want those, but for those who don’t, it isn’t distracting. Lots of space and great for large groups, but you could also bring a potential bonerjam there and they would at least know you have good taste in bars. The rest is up to you.
Went to this restaurant for the first time because of a private event. They have a spacious room in the back that's pretty quiet and has its own bathrooms. I enjoyed the food at this restaurant. We had chicken wings which were very tasty, veggie egg rolls which were fully stuffed and crispy. The shrimp, veggie and chicken skewers were all very flavorful. We also had the Bacon Bites which was flavourful but was a bit on the salty side. It was very good with rice though. The popcorn chicken was really crispy. It paired perfectly with the tamarind dip. My favourite was the Crispy Poke Cup. The Pork Belly Tacos were quite stuffed too. I love the crispy jalapeno on top. The beer selection is very good. I also found the staff friendly. It was a great party with delicious food and great company. I just wish the restaurant supplied pitchers of water per table so we didn't have to go to the bar to line up just to get some. All in all, it was a good experience. I would go back to try their other menu items. Vegetarian options: Papaya salad, veggie egg rolls and veggie skewers
This is the full $16 chicken dish. I want to like this place, I really do. To give this place a fair shot, I’ve been here three times. The beers are good - the food is to be avoided. The ambiance is severely lacking - it’s confused. It’s not quite a brunch vibe, and definitely not a bar. If you were looking for a quiet place to file your taxes while having a beer, this would be it. Ambience - 2/10 Food - 0/10 Beers - 9/10 I wish this business all the best and hope it improves in the future.
An enjoyable spot for food and drinks with family and friends. Staff were friendly and welcoming right from the get-go. There’s many seating options that can accommodate all group sizes - even a private event space. Earlier in the day The Pleasant seems emptier but towards the evening, it tends to fill up. Be prepared for a very lively and social atmosphere, especially during big games. We made short work of some tasty and unique food offerings such as the Pulled Pork Wonton Nachos personal favourite at the moment, Kimchi Mac n' Cheese, and Pork Belly Tacos. The wonton nachos were a great plate to share. Choices for drinks were plentiful, maybe even slightly overwhelming in a good way!. With some helpful recommendations from staff I found the Joyride Cider, Would Crush, and the Pineapple Coco Sour to be quite delightful. The pool table is a highlight here, a fun activity with friends. In addition, there were plenty of TVs - you won't miss a game here! It's clear the amount of thought and passion that's gone into this place. I'd wholeheartedly recommend checking The Pleasant out if folks are looking for a casual spot to grab food, drinks and hangout.
Great food! Love their wings and spring rolls. However, we had to wait a while before our order was placed. It was not busy when we got there so the service was disappointing.
Great vibes in the heart of Mount Pleasant! The best selection of local beer and surrounding areas, a pool table and friendly staff. Ask for Mike, he’ll take care of you! It’s great that they’re now fully opened and have table service! I haven’t tried the food yet, but the beer and the vibes is enough reason to keep coming back and that’s usually all I go out for.
Went to check out The Pleasant last Saturday, having heard that they have a pool table. Found out that it not free to play need coins but was a good time and got busy, as there is only one table. Our group had beer and shared wonton nachos with Char Siu pork. Never had nachos like this and it was delish!!! They did not skimp out on toppings; it was just perfect. Definitely a must-try. Everything on the menu looks amazing and we all agreed that we'd love to try the pork belly tacos next! The staff were absolutely lovely and the atmosphere was chill. Lots of tables and there are 5 TVs. We noticed that it was pretty empty less than 25% full on a Saturday night, but it may well be because it's new and people just haven't discovered this hidden gem yet! We love this addition to the neighbourhood and will absolutely be back again to try more things from their menu!
We're so glad we checked this place out before the grand opening because it's going to be PACKED once more people hear about it. Great atmosphere, beer selection, and food. The smash burger patty was perfectly seasoned and seriously so good. The pork belly tacos were spicy and tasty. The pool table was a nice touch, paying homage to the previous establishment in its place. To top it all off, the bartender was friendly and chatty. It's clear that the owner put lots of thought into how to make The Pleasant a welcoming and enjoyable experience. Good vibes all around and great service. We'll definitely be back!
