Simply put, an amazing bar. Spacious and cosy. Can really feel the labour of love in the renovation and making this legion/bar feel connected and honouring the past and bringing it to the future. Welcomed with a big mask covered smile and felt at home. Games room and loooong communal tables are unique to Main, and much needed. Beer is well looked after and the Hero's Lager is spot on. Aside from food needing a little work it's not for a meal, it's a slap-dash sustenance to stop a hangover this place is perfect.
They have skee ball, pool tables, pinball, fooseball and darts. They have some really really tasty hotdogs on the menu and very reasonable prices on drinks. Great atmosphere! A big screen where you can watch sports with sound.
Cool place! Hero's Welcome revamped the Legion and made sure to do so with respect. There's memorabilia all over the walls and in glass cases, and they even kept the "no hats" rule. Lots of fun games to play darts, pool, arcade machines, and the menu is no-fuss. There's a change machine too if you need playing coins.
Great neighborhood spot! Super friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. The food was really tasty & well priced especially during happy hour. Bunch of well maintained arcade games too.
Hats off to Heroes literally... Take your hats off! Been my regular for about a year now. Staff are spot on and always take care of me. I have seen a few parties come in and walk out because they didn't know they could walk right in. Seen a few comments on here that folks sit down and have to wait a while to get service... I personally don't mind heading to the bar to collect my own beer if it's busy or if the staff are enjoying a bit of banter. Would have loved to see one of the shuffleboard tables functional but understand that space is a commodity in Vancouver. Dartboards need an update which I'm told is happening. Be good to see a league for darts/pool/foosball over here. If you see me playing darts feel free to join in for a game Probably best to call ahead if you plan on going on a Monday to see if they are open.
This place is sick. What don’t they have? Pool, darts, pinball, skeeball, a hunting arcade game, a beer pong game. They have a private karaoke room. They do trivia nights, and have a rock paper scissors competition. The staff were all so awesome and friendly! Drinks were well priced and mixed. Didn’t get to try the food but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Gonna be back for sure.
Atmosphere was good but man the cocktails were disappointing. We ordered all 4 pitcher options for cocktails they had $35 each and all tasted very watered-down, with almost no flavour or hint of alcohol especially the bland sangria. I did not try the food or the beer but the cocktails were not worth it at all. Next time, I'll go but just won't get booze.
The no hat rule is pretty dumb in 2023, regardless of the establishments history. Pretty sure the legion didn’t have buck hunter or Star Wars pin ball
fun vibe to this place, they have a pool table, darts and arcade games. decor makes it look like a vet bar but all kinds of people here
We live in the neighbourhood and time and again have been impressed with the service and community here. Delicious house lager, kind people, and fun games. We feel so lucky to have this place so close.
