I visited The Military Museum today. It’s been another educational for me to get to know the story of WW2 and WW3, and how military sacrifices or even lost their live for Us!nThank you! I could spent more time inside reading more story of those soldiers who fought for us. But I will be back, next summer. Thank you also for all the staff, they all have been very helpful and tried their best to explained what their know about the war.
A very informative museum about all different types of army/navy involvement of the canadian forces. Very illustrative, many exhibits, simply wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!
nnOur recent visit to The Military Museums in Calgary was a truly inspirational experience for Cool Choir as we prepare for our upcoming concert celebrating the Centenary of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The exhibits provided us with a deep and moving insight into Canada’s military history, particularly the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force, which is the focus of our show. We were honoured to meet with the incredible staff, who were both knowledgeable and welcoming, as well as the distinguished gentleman who will be speaking at our concert. He gave us a brief yet captivating presentation on the history of the RCAF and shared his personal experience as a fighter pilot in Yugoslavia in 1993. His story was both humbling and inspiring, and we feel privileged to have him as part of our event. The museum itself is a treasure trove of military heritage, and we left feeling even more connected to the legacy we aim to honour through our performance. Highly recommend this museum for anyone seeking a meaningful and educational experience.
This is a really neat museum, the price is fair, the volunteers are so eager to share their vast knowledge, they are very kind and friendly, the facilities are amazing! I went today even having low back pain and I was available to find a bench to sit every 10 mins, this is how museums should be , this should be the gold standard, not like that crappy naval and maritime museum in Victoria BC..
The Calgary military museum as hole played a large role in my childhood, i remember going to see it with my dad , I always remember being astonished and awe struck by the T-72 stationed at the front of the museum. I decided to revisit the museum recently and was disappointed in the condition of the vehicle on display, the t-72 no longer looks as terrifying and majestic as it did before, it has been left to rot, along side another soviet tank the museum has on display. The t-34 is in such shockingly poor condition it is shameful, museums are places to remember and share history with the world, not to let it rot and rust while you maintain and repaint the other surrounding vehicles, it's shameful and i do hope that these 2 vehicles get the respect as the other tanks and planes on display.
