You will not go home hungry! The food portions are EXTREMELY generous. The award winning cinnamon roll is a MUST try. It came out hot and could easily feed 2-3 people. You should really consider stopping here if you need a breakfast that will fill you up for the whole day with leftovers. It's right off the highway so it is easy to get too. The wait staff was very courteous and checked on us often. They even have a gift shop if you want something to remember your delicious meal by!
Always a good meal here. This trip, I went for the Smoked Prime Rib, served on Saturdays only. As a Texan that eats prime rib on the regular, I give this one an A-. It was very well executed and tasty. 14oz was a nice size for my big appetite. It was definitely juicy and cooked perfectly medium as I ordered . I didn’t say A+ because I never got a “smoked” flavor when eating it. Could be the mild smoke from the local trees or charcoal but the steak was certainly good enough to come back for. Garlic mash potatoes and vegetables made a good pairing. As always the French Onion Soup was a good choice. I finished up with the Banana Cream Pie and it was very good as well. A bit too much cream for me but that’s a personal choice. Very good meal.
So be warned, prices are higher here than your average place. BUT the food was so good. Pictured are the two appetizers, the barbecue potato skins and the haystack onions. The potato skins were ok, but admittedly that’s just never been my jam, to each their own. My husband enjoyed them though. We both LOVED the haystack…so crunchy and just exactly what they should be. Also pictured is the hand breaded chicken sandwich and for an extra $1 I substituted for sweet potato fries. They sprinkle a little sugar over them which was different. But the sandwich was pretty good…had a nice crispy layer to the chicken and was delicious. Not pictured was the brisket dinner my husband got and he said it was tasty! I’d probably eat here more if I lived closer and the prices were a bit lower, but I can say that we’ll definitely be back bc at least you get REALLY tasty food for the price!
This was my first time and will definitely not be my last. This place is amazing. First, it reminded me of Cracker Barrel. I love the general store. They have the biggest pecan rolls for sale. Unbelievably delicious. They also have the biggest ole’ fashion peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies for sale at the counter. DELICIOUS!!!!!! The booths are huge and comfortable. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was sooo quiet and peaceful. Our waiter was outstanding! I ordered the classic Ruben and fries. The sandwich was scrumptious, and the fries were golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We were able to sit comfortably without feeling rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. This restaurant is a hidden treasure.
Brisket stuffed potato skins were fabulous. I'm not a huge barbecue fan and I loved these. Mac and cheese and prime rib sandwich are always good. Parking: Plenty of spots for everyone Wheelchair accessibility: Brought a wheelchair bound friend here and he had no issues getting in and out.
This was my first time stopping in on my way through northern Milwaukee. The online menu looked similar to Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans, which are both great places to eat on a cold winter night, so I decided to check this place out. I have to say, this is my new favorite place for homestyle cooking! I had the Shed Burger, which came with a burger patty, beef brisket, pepper jack cheese, fried onions, lettuce, and bbq sauce. The brioche bun was an excellent touch for an overall fantastic sandwich. The fries were also very good and not too salty. My meal was very filling, so much so that I had no room to try the delicious looking apple dumplings! The service was also very good. My waitress was very attentive and made sure I always had my drink topped off. The inside décor was very inviting and down to earth. I only wish one was closer to home!
Amazing fish fry. We went on a date night here while the baby spent time with grandma and it was such a good time. Server was so great and unlimited all you can eat fish with tons of sides.
Lovely experience, food and staff were great. Did not know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The entrance of the restaurant is a cute gift and general store similar to Cracker Barrel We ordered onion strings and the cheese artichoke dip 4/5 stars fir flavor and portions. We shared family style and it included bread service, cinnamon apples, coleslaw and sweet breads!!! We loved the prime rib, fried chicken dinner and Mac and cheese. Pot pie was okay, sauce was a little thick. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for pie, would have liked to try it! Casual and friendly restaurant good for groups
Of all the reviews I have done, I believe this is the first one I give a perfect rating. The night before my son and now daughter in-laws wedding, we had a family dinner at The Machine Shed. All through the planning process for the dinner, the staff was very helpful. The night of the dinner everything was setup in their banquet room and everything was well organized. The food was excellent and many commented on how nice everything was. We had one waitress that did an outstanding job checked on us many times to make sure we had everything we needed. Her name was Jamie and she did an excellent job by herself taking care of all 29 in our party. Toward the end of the evening I asked Jamie if we needed to start clearing things out and she told us to take our time and never pressured us to leave. The Machine Shed and Jamie made our evening an excellent one.
Ordered a Thanksgiving dinner for four 4 and was very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food. It was all very tasty and well packaged - easy to store and reheat. The portions were generous as well. The staff was super helpful and friendly and easy to communicate with. I will definitely order from them in the future and would gladly recommend them to friends and neighbors.
