LOVE this place. It's such a hole-in-the-wall treasure that has a dedicated following for a reason!! The owner works there whenever I come by and is very personable to every customer. The last time we came by it was 5-ish on Friday night and we waited for about 40 minutes for our to-go order but we didn't call ahead either. It sucks that they're only open 2 days a week but I think they're being smart about how much they're able to do with their current staffing numbers. My favorite sauces are for sure the Brown Brown and Special sauces, definitely give them a try. The building itself is missing business signs for each rental unit unfortunately but it is WORTH the search and they currently have a banner to help you find it. Can't wait to see how they grow their business!
Please patronize Pat's Ribs Place on Sunset Drive! It's owned by Oprah's niece, Patricia. I'm a Patricia too. Several years ago my brother and I failed to make Thanksgiving dinner plans for the 2 of us. We drove all around Waukesha looking for an open restaurant with lights on. We came upon Pat's and inquired if they were open. They were not, they were celebrating a private family meal. However, they invited my brother and I in, gave us "to go" containers and let us help ourselves to the buffet. Oh, and we got the most delicious peach cobbler too. It was a most interesting and heartwarming experience of community in Waukesha. The true meaning of Thanksgiving.
I'm visiting from out of town with my brother and we wanted to try several items. I'll list them in order of preference. We had: - the staff -- amazing! - spare ribs -- amazing - wings -- amazing - baby back ribs -- very good - pork basket fries & pulled pork -- very good - sweet corn bites -- very good - smokey fries -- very good - brisket -- good a bit dry - coleslaw -- good - beans -- good The selection of BBQ sauces was awesome! Only recommendation I would have is if they had combo plates were you can combine 2 or 3 meats as a dinner so you can try several items. Great job guys!
Dry pulled pork. Came in with high expectations. The restaurant was clean and visually appealing. The lady who took our to-go order was friendly enough. She informed us that they were out of ribs, but didn't mind since I came for pulled pork, which she said they had. It was only until after I placed the order that I started to notice the red flags. #1 although the restaurant was packed, nobody seemed to be eating. #2 I heard an "employee" say that he didn't even work there, but he seemed to be the only one getting things going, and getting people food, so if he doesn't work there, he should. #3 it was $25 for 2 pulled pork sandwich dinners to-go. As the clock kept ticking I asked when the food would be ready after 15 minutes now, I've been to many food trucks serving the same well, food trucks are actually good food to way more people and they get the food to you in about 5 minutes and 1 or 2 employees. How is it that this place can't do the same thing with 4x - 5x the staff and an actual kitchen? Red flag #5 customers who were dining in had to keep coming up either to pay a bill, check the status of their order, or ask for a refill of water. Now, I would have been less upset if they had simply communicated to us when we got there that the wait would be a half an hour, I would have said "ok thank you, I'll come back some other time". It is not normal to wait that long for food. In fact, there is no food I'm willing to wait that long for. I attached some pictures of the dry meat. I will say that the beans were delicious, it's too bad they only give you a thimble full. I won't come back here, ever. Again, you can see how dry the meat is in the picture and can even see the scooper shape. Also, tried all 3 sauces, I'll stick with Sweet Baby Ray's.
Really good food and delicious. Long wait for it but we'll worth it. Didn't have any spare ribs which was our main thing to try for our first time. Very small seating, but they are renovating to get more and new seats. Because of that, 4 stars but do not be deterred. The food is delicious and will update rating next time we go!
Food is good but the service was slow. Ribs and pulled pork were tender and smoky delicious. 4 home made sauces to choose from sweet with apple bits to a spicy one with some heat.
Pat’s BBQ is different. It’s what every bbq restaurant should try to be. The ribs were succulent and rich; the sauce, potent and delicious. I thought it couldn’t get better until I reheated the sandwich I took home. Wow. The meat and sauce is what makes this restaurant the best bbq I’ve ever had.
Absolutely fabulous! Fantastic Perch, cod, pork and beef! My first time here and I have no complaints. Great servers, great atmosphere and great food! Give it a try, you won't regret it. I wish I had found this wonderful restaurant earlier. I will definitely be back. Thank you! *This is my honest review. I was not asked, nor rewarded for it. *
Pat's Rib Place is a great workday luncheon for their sandwiches and appetizers. Highly recommend the Cat Fish and Beef Brisket dinners only dinners I've tried! The sauces at the table are a great selection, I love the "Memphis MadDawg" is flavorful and spicy!
Authentic BBQ, absolutely delicious! Last night I had the ribs smothered in Alicia's special bbq sauce, with a side of fried green beans! The music is great too! Dave
