Best Indian food I've ever had!!! We moved from Toronto and one of the things my husband and I were worried, was if we would ever find a good authentic Indian restaurant. We tried a couple of places in Guelph and they were....ok. So when we decided to come to Kolkata we were beyond amazed in how fabulous the place was, how friendly the staff was but most importantly, HOW AMAZING the food was. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed. I read some of the low reviews and I can't believe people have had a terrible experience here. I've been a regular before, during and after the pandemic and everything is beyond good!!! Love this restaurant
It’s been a best night with the awesome presentation and delicious food. We travelled all the way to Kitchener’s for dinner. We do recommend should try the food in The Kolkata club. Real taste of India. Thanks all the Kolkata club staff for the wonderful food. Will see u soon
The food was incredibly delicious and was warm. I took one star just for the service, might the staff was new and after being busy they act like penic. On that day might they were short staff I am not sure about that. My all time favorite at this place is Chicken methi malai murg, also we had chicken tandoor platter, chicken chilli which was different than the Chinese one, also I prefer garlic naan over laccha parath at this location. Parking: Plaza is big and there are plenty of parking available all the time.
Tried their lamb biryani. This was the best biryani that I tried here in Guelph. The lamb was tender and tasty, the biryani had a good combination of all the spices, not so overpowering which is good. But the pickle was too salty. Overall the experience was nice. Will go there again.Food: 4/5
What an amazing experience with The Kolkata Club! I called before ordering to ask about wheat free options as I have an allergy. They were so accommodating and friendly. I felt like they were happy to assist me. We ordered smoky butter chicken, murgh biryani, the club meat and pickles. Everything had so much flavor. The club meat was spicy, heat, with great flavor. You don't want to stop eating once you start. We look forward to eating in the restaurant and being given guidance as to what to enjoy next
Ambience and service was top notch. The food place leans a little more to the high end instead of a quick serve everyday dine-in Indian restaurant. This fact reflects into the interior dining decor and table setup complete with wine glasses. The service was also up there to match. We were directed to our table and duly provided drinking water. We were asked if we want wine to which we refused. The food and food presentation was excellent. I have no complaints with my order of Murg Methi Dhabewala chicken in traditional curry with fenugreek $17.99. I paired it with garlic naan which was $3.50 extra. The curry is spicy, but not hot which is just the way I like it. Serving size is a little more than enough for 1 person, and it should be good for sharing. My South Indian friend ordered the chicken biryani. Other than the minor comment he had that the biryani was a little salty, it was otherwise good. Talking more about the interior setting of the restaurant is to mention the TV displays present. There were 3 TVs playing some continuous videos. The rightmost has some Indian or desi music videos on shuffle. The middle TV has some Gordon Ramsay or some cooking show playing. The leftmost is showing some Burna Boy music. Only the leftmost TV has the volume turned on. The setup kind of breaks from the whole classy ambience the restaurant is trying to go for. I find that playing Afrobeats kills the theme you would expect from a South Indian restaurant.
Nice ambient seating environment, Wow the smell authentic Indian restaurant Ordered Alo tikki, Papas box try it Paneer makhmali, cheese naan . Taste was good, Recommend Visit it once
This place used to my favourite place to order, but it is not good anymore. Not only they put way less food in their dish, they actually included tips in the total amount of the payment without notifying me, and asking me to tip again. I ordered three dishes, Creamy palak paneer, Paneer Makhmali, Vegetarian butter chicken, and one garlic naan, one plain naan. According to their menu, the total of this order including tax should be $51.81, but they charged me $59.29, then asking me for extra tips. There was not even a breakdown of items' price on their receipt. I am seriously doubting their business integrity now. Please do not go to this restaurant, at least, make sure you know what you are paying for. This is extemely dissapointing and frustrating.
One of the best Indian cuisine restaurant in the area. Though portion size of veg noodles and chilli panners were on the smaller size but it was really prepared well. Taste was really authentic. Ambience and service are also very good.Recommended dishesSamosa Chaat, Paneer Tikka
