Our family chose to come to Tamarind for Sunday lunch and genuinely enjoyed all the food and quality! The service staff were amazing, incredibly polite and one of the main reasons we will be coming back here again and recommending Tamarind to our friends and family! Sweta was one of the members of the service staff that treated our family so well and professionally, we were really impressed to come to a restaurant with such high quality Indian food and service! Thank you to the whole team from Chefs to dining room staff, we truly had a lovely experience during our meal. We will definitely be returning customers in the future!!
We reached at this place around 8:30 pm on Saturday evening and got a table for 4 without waiting but just after that we saw people lining up. It was jam- packed being a weekend so reach early to avoid long waiting. *Amazing ambiance and yummy food! It was all worth the money spent. I loved their presentation and serving platters Dal makhni was epic! Portioning was good too! *Service was slow maybe because it was super busy or could be because of low staff *Washrooms need to be taken care of during peak hours *I don’t know if someone noticed it or not that evening but there were just 5 songs repeatedly being played that day on the system which was bit annoying Despite of the negative feedback I would visit this place again just because of the delicious authentic Indian food.
Good vibe and food of course . We ordered veg appetizers, Punjabi mutton and pudina soda with garlic naan. Everything was delicious. Service was up to the mark. Everyone on staff was polite, friendly and professional. negative points for - . The ambiance is great but there was some carpentry work in progress when we visited the restaurant .. which ruins the dine-in experience. Initially, some extra food items were charged in the bill.. it took some time to get it corrected. Also, the Punjabi mutton dish - more than half of the dish was full of bones and quantity was less compared to price. Other than the above. Everything was great.. gonna try this restaurant one more time for sure.
Loved the outdoor patio! Beautiful atmosphere and yummy food. Got a lot of different items and all were good. Recommend the chicken platter and garlic nann. We also tried the panipuri shots, dahi ke kababs, and th3 carrot cake.
In short: Ambience: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Food: 5/10 Detailed review: My husband and I went to this restaurant after reading the reviews. We saw that the recent reviews were low stars, and yet we decided to still give it a try. We liked the ambience. Since we were two people, they asked to sit at a tiny table that can hardly fit 2 plates. The management must know the Indian food can't fit on such a tiny table. We asked them to change our table and give us a table of 4 it was Tuesday evening and there was no rush at all. To this request, the lady gave us a look and said that she needs to ask the manager. Ultimately, they changed our table. We ordered Bhatti Paneer Tikka Tacos. The description said that it contains Achari paneer and smoked paprika aioli. We couldn't taste either. It was a 4/10 dish. I am vegetarian and before ordering Paneer Lababdar, I asked the manager whether it would be mild or spicy. He said, we can make it spicy if you want. That's not the answer I am looking for. Paneer Lababdar was way too sweet, and no salt. My husband ordered Dhaba Chicken Curry. He said that it tasted okay. It wasn't so distinctive, and that he has had a better chicken curry elsewhere. Garlic naan was good in terms of size and softness. But it lacked the garlic flavor. This restaurant is not worth the hype.
I have eaten at Indian Bistros around the world, and thinking this would provide food of the same palate, decided to give it a try. Ambience was good although I opted for pick-up. But even after specifically requesting to keep spice level mild which was acknowledged by staff who responded with “I’ll tell the kitchen to make it as mild as possible” the food I received was extremely spicy. I could literally feel smoke coming out of my ears. Extremely disappointed. And not visiting again.
Overhyped and under delivered! Service - 3/5 Food presentation- 4/5 Decor & ambiance- 3.5/5 Food quantity- 3/5 Food quality - 1/5 Items we ordered and you should NOT: Amritsar Fish - over cooked and no flavour. We sent it back, they got a freshly made one, which is no different. Chicken currytomato sauce: better described as boiled chicken thrown in to curry sauce. Mutton Rogan Josh: Same as chicken. Felt like boiled meat thrown into curry sauce - no flavour on the piece. Tamarind Grill: This is a shame. Don’t even bother. Overall - you should eat here if you have no other choice. I wouldn’t recommend this place to family or friends.
We were there on a busy long weekend and were hosted good. There was a usual wait time and then had to order everything at a go, but the food kept coming in gradually which was good. We were fan of their cocktails & mock tails, also their appetizers. We loved palak kebabs. Jackfruit was something we went to try & we loved it in tacos were not a fan of it in main course kathal masala. Their quantity is enough for 4 people. Deserts were served in ample quantity which we didn’t expect and were delicious! We will visit back soon for trying out more dishes.
One of the best place i ever visited. Absolutely great food and services. service is fast I definitely recommend you to eat. They serve the food fresh. Be sure to try this Indian cuisine.
Updated review: We loved our first visit here. After being in States and dining with dog, we couldn't find any other place in Mississauga area where we could dine in with our pet. They gave us an exception as we had ESA Certificate for our pup. But they weren't very welcoming the second time. We loved their food so we started doing take out. But the last time we dined in, they didn't serve well. The flavor of the Biryani was off. The MAGGO SALAD didn't have MANGO in it duh!. Upon asking the Manager responded in an impolite way. When we dine in, we end up paying tip for the hospitality. But I don't think they have it in them. Tamarind just lost a very genuine customer!! P.S : like others mentioned, they have just few bunch of songs that they play on repeat. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMAZEMAX delicious food with breathtaking views. What else can you ask for?! We had the best food so far. Loved the starters, Pani puri shots. Lamb chops was super yum, never had such drool worthy Mango salad. Their Biryani is also very Delish, but the best part the desert, they are to DIE FOR!
