Since 2001, The Black Lamb has offered gorgeous yarn and fibres in our beautiful, boutique shop in scenic Port Hope, Ontario. Owned and operated by Laurie Goldiuk, The Black Lamb offers an extensive selection of yarn, knitting, crocheting, spinning, felting, and weaving supplies, accessories and equipment.

A Spinner's Dream! Great little store hidden in the residential area of Port Hope. The shop is located behind their home, so it's not super obvious at first but once you drive down their laneway you will see a sweet little building on the right and there's plenty of parking. The shop is small but packed with many beautiful goods. The owner is absolutely lovely and really helpful. I could have stayed for hours! She has Ashford Products, including some spinning wheels on hand. There are many types of fibre available for sale and I walked out with a large bag full. I was so thrilled to find this little gem of a shop and it was well worth the trip out there. I will be be back!
Laurie dyes her own yarn, and carries a variety of high quality fiber. She also has a good selection of spinning and felting supplies, including roving, and wool and silk hankies, as well as tools. Her shop is small but she is extremely knowledgeable, and she has access to a lot of suppliers for her raw materials and can bring items in upon request. Her yarn is available in certain LYS's too, and she brings her stock to yarn shows across the province.
I was in Port Hope visiting and had been down many times and did not realize that there was a yarn store in Port Hope. Well, Black Lamb is more than that. The yarn is fabulous ,so much to pick from and Laurie was super nice ,she help me pick out yarn and was quite willing to explain her product, very friendly. What a gem to have in your own back yard. The studio and mill are at the back of her property but well worth the hunting to find her.
I recently ordered a product through Black Lamb. The owner was very helpful, had great advice and the produce arrived quickly. It was a pleasure to use this store and I certainly will again!
I just purchased a pair of Hawkins combs and would like to compliment Mr. Hawkins on his exquisite product. They are beautifully crafted, light to work with, easy to hold and a delightful product to work with. I have used other combs but these are definitely far superior.
Was able to make a hat I wanted super quick. Sent her a picture and she made up a prototype for the next day. I bought that one and came back 2 days later for another made up of the yarn of my choice. Plus she threw in an ear warmer band made up of the extra yarn. I've gotten lots of compliments on them all.
Just visited The Black Lamb. Such an amazing store, filled with so many possible projects/ideas. Friendly, great customer service. New and wonderful store to add to my list of regular places I visit or shop at!! So glad I was referred to The Black Lamb :
Laurie has a wonderful shop full of glorious knitting wool and finished items too. If you want to learn to spin see Laurie.
Very helpful. Willing to take the time to teach and explain how to use the various products and materials. A great place to learn a new hobby.
