The food was AMAZING! Neither of us have had a meal this good in quite some time. The atmosphere was wonderful, the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas with eclectic antique pieces of furniture and decorations. Our waitress was incredible, I wish I had gotten her name. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and was able to give us wonderful advice. She was very attentive and kind, and made the experience a wonderfully memorable one. We will definitely be coming back!
I came here because of the high reviews, and I’d say it was worth a try. The food was pretty good, and the service was decent as well.nnThe fried calamari was very fresh and crispy. Our neighboring table highly recommended the crab ravioli, and it truly lived up to the hype! The ravioli was packed with fresh crab meat, and the sauce had a slightly tangy taste but was perfectly balanced and delicious.nnHowever, the lobster roll, which many people recommended, was just average. It’s worth trying if you’ve never had one before, but I prefer the ones I’ve had in Maine. The mayo sauce overpowered the natural freshness of the lobster meat, and the roll itself and the fries were just ordinary.
If you're looking for a dining experience with a stunning waterfront view, this restaurant is a must-visit. The serene atmosphere, with views of the water, makes it an ideal spot for a relaxing meal or a special occasion.nnThe food is absolutely exceptional. The octopus was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and a delight to eat. The spaghetti with lobster was another highlight, bursting with fresh flavors and cooked to perfection. The salmon was also outstanding, beautifully prepared and seasoned just right.nnTo finish the meal, the multi-layered cake was a showstopper, making it the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal.nnThe combination of delicious food, great ambiance, and the unbeatable view makes this restaurant a place worth revisiting. Highly recommended!
This is a busy place. The door open and closes lots. In cool weather you might keep feeling drafts. But, to combat that they have an incredible wine selection. Let Matt and Ben guide your choices. They have wine talents. I can't find a rudder to steer you away from the food. The Chowder hit me like a surf wave on the first sip....without the forced gulp of salt water. This soup kept on giving like the waves after you got pulled out and are clawing your way back to safe sand on your hands and knees! Then the ship comes in; Pasta!! With seafood of course. Why not, it's Halifax boardwalk after all. Not a tomato sauce, not oil, garlic and parmesean, but basil, wine, and magic! You cannot make this at home. You don't know how. Come have it here. There are other dishes to satisfy most. I could only eat one meal on this visit, but I will back to visit the barmen and taste other wines!nFinally, the have great view.
This is one of the most popular restaurants in Halifax. It's very difficult to get a reservation. The line up is very long, but worth the wait. The atmosphere is beautiful and if it's a nice day... definitely sit on the patio. The wine list is lovely, many options to choose from. The oysters were so fresh and delicious! Will definitely eat there again!
