This was an amazing birthday dinner! I had the pumpkin soup as an appetizer and the short ribs as the main course. Both were fantastic! My wife had the pappardelle pasta which was the pasta of the day. It was excellent. Our service was Johnny-Lynn. She was an excellent server. She was professional, knew the menu, and very nice to interact with. We were very impressed with Chives. We will return. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We had a great family dinner there. They were really accommodating with my family’s dietary restrictions (gluten and vegan) and made sure we had a good time. As note, I would mention that the washrooms are not accessible for people with reduced mobility (narrow staircase).

Amazing restaurant. I would revisit in a heartbeat. I ordered the pork belly as my appetizer. It was rich, flavourful, and so succulent. I've never had such amazingly prepared pork belly before. Absolutely exquisite. The duck was juicy, and the roasted vegetables had such a wonderful aroma. I chose to complement it with a sis of butternut squash risotto. I've become a bit of a risotto snob since I couldn't find a restaurant in Halifax that made it as good as I do myself until tonight. Chives blew me away. 5/5. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very nice restaurant, with great service. Fancy, low lighting with candles at the tables. Not what I expected from the name, but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection, definitely the best steak I have ever had. Ordered a great cider too, and their homemade caramel ice cream was amazing. Highly recommended, enjoy!

Always amazed with the food from Chives, one of my favourite spots to eat in Halifax. I highly recommend it!!
