We love this place! The new location is superb. The decor creates a beautiful atmosphere. The service is excellent, Kristy attended to our every need and is so professional and thoughtful. The Caesar salad is the best in town and our steak was cooked beautifully, so tender and tasty. The tables are well set out and private. One of our favourite places to eat in town, it never disappoints. We will be back soon. Thank you for a memorable evening. Parking: Close to restaurant
We have been traveling up the east coast and other places have said that they had the best lobster rolls, but these were the best lobster rolls we have tasted! The seasonings were so complementary to the lobster! The bread was toasted to perfection! Thank you Roger for chatting with us. It was truly delightful. Next time we are back for a visit, we will for sure be stopping by again!
I finally made it to the latest and greatest incarnation of Cafe Chianti, and it did not disappoint. The floor to ceiling windows take advantage of the waterfront location to provide beautiful views of the harbor and George's Island. The decor is contemporary, and despite the relative fullness of the restaurant when I was there, it was not overly loud so it was easy to have a pleasant conversation. The service was great, and the pacing between appetizers, entrees, and dessert was perfect. There are several items on the menu that are either vegetarian, or can be made vegetarian. I had the roasted garlic pappardelle without the chicken and it was delicious. My dinner companion had the ravioli, and she likewise had rave reviews. All round it was a very pleasant experience.
Such an amazing experience! Fabulous atmosphere, incredible staff, insanely delicious food, what more can I say? We stumbled upon this place and wanted to stop in for a drink. Although they didn’t open for a half hour the very generous general manager offered us a patio table. This incredible customer service prompted us to come back 2 hours later to celebrate our anniversary. Our server both times Madison S was FABULOUS. Although we have to catch a plane tomorrow, we’re hoping to squeeze in one more visit. Thank you for the Maritime hospitality xo.
Excellent service and delicious food! We had the arancini and calamari as an appetizer and both were delicious! Our mains came out hot and tasted so good, we couldn’t leave a crumb on the plate. Service was great and very professional! 10/10 would recommend coming here, for any occasion!
Outstanding service and food. Had a special alfresco event for 21 people at Cafe Chianti August 2022 with a quiet location by the harbour. Kristy Sutherland is general manager extraordinaire! Special thanks to Kristy for working tirelessly. Class act all the way. She made sure we were happy from everyone aspect. We had garlic shrimp, fried calamari in sauce and pizza for appetizer and we had a selection of mains from steak frites AAA tenderloin, seafood linguine fresh from the sea and the best baked halibut and mashed potatoes. Dessert was outstanding especially the tiramisu! Better than some from Italy! Great selection of wines and beer we had the house rose. Michael assisted with our service and couldn’t be more professional. Roger you have you have a fantastic staff and offering. Kudos to the chef!
Great New Waterfront Eatery The new Pub located at the end of the cruise ship terminal and attached to the Cafe Chianti is well worth a visit. We were there for lunch about a month after the Pub's opening and were impressed with the quality of the food and the very friendly atmosphere and service. The P.E.I. Mussels were perfectly done and served with a tasty garlic butter sauce - there must have been 20 or 25 of them in the bowl. The Fish and Chips were just what you want and expect in this traditional pub dish. The batter was light and crispy and the chips were spot on. The six beer taps included a good variety of options. We had the Stella Artois and Garrison Irish Rose a local craft beer. Give this new place a try - you will be glad you did.
Great food and service! Our appetizers were fresh and hot, Caeser salad was crisp. Absolutely delicious mains and generous portions. Host and servers were prompt, attentive and professional. Overall excellent dining experience! Parking: Close location - well lit.
Good atmosphere, polite people, however somewhat slow. When it arrived out of the 3 dishes we tried the seafood linguine was the best. This was slightly on the spicier side but, very creamy. The restraunt was hard to find at first, as it is kind of blocked by the building beside it. Lots of parking thankfully don't have to find street parking.
Everything we had was so delicious! The pasta, arancini and caesar salad were all very good. The manager came over to check on us and she was very lovely and the service overall was amazing. This was one of my favourite spots while visiting Halifax!
