I can’t believe we only discovered this place recently. This place is a gem!!! Very friendly and attentive staff. Everything we ordered were fresh, very tasty, delicious and beautifully presented! Highly recommended and we’ll definitely come back!

I ate a bento here yesterday and I have to say, the food was honestly amazing when compared to the cost. The chicken was delicious in all the categories. I don’t live in Surrey. I only went to the plaza for some purchase and discovered this gem… now I wish I live there lol! Their foods are fresh, beautifully presented and delicious at an affordable price. Look how thick the sashimi is! We also ordered seafood udon and oyster motoyaki unfortunately we didn’t take photos of them. Not only they tasted yummy, the portion was also very generous. I swear I never saw so much seafood in a seafood udon.

I came here for lunch recently and tried their Sushi/Sashimi Combo. The bento box came with 3 pieces of Salmon and Tuna sashimi each, 1 piece of Salmon, Tuna, and Ebi nigiri/sushi each, Assorted Tempura, Salad, Fried Corn Fritter, Rice, and Miso Soup. The miso soup, corn fritter, and tuna sashimi were okay as the soup was a bit salty, the corn fritter slightly bland, and tuna not super fresh. The salad and rice were as expected. That being said, the salmon sashimi, tempura, and the nigiri stood out as the salmon was fresh, the tempura was nicely battered and fried, and the nigiri were good. Given the overall quality and quantity of food at this price, it’s definitely a fine meal.

Our neighbourhood sushi go to spot! Not only is it close by, but the staff here are so friendly it makes you want to keep going back! In the 8 years that we’ve been going here I do t think they’ve gotten our order wrong. Recently we’ve been doing allot of take out and I definitely recommend getting their party trays and rice bowls! They are great with substituting rolls for others. Kid friendly, quick pick up time and tastes fresh every time. In the picture is a party tray with kappa maki, dynamite roll, California roll, spicy tuna, salmon roll, beef and chicken teriyaki. Miso soup and we also got their beef yakisoba which is the kids love.

I love this place - so grateful it’s close to my work so I usually will pick up on my way home. However, I have no problem making the drive just to come here. I moved here recently and wasn’t having much luck finding a sushi restaurant that hit off all my boxes but Tawara is fantastic, very lovely staff too :

Tawara has amazing food!!!!! The sashimi, gyoza, everything is delicious and they have a wonderful hard working team. They have been open for pick up the whole pandemic and really gave us something to look forward.

First time customer and service was excellent. Ordered online and pickup was fast and ready on time! I was very impressed with the food quality as well, very delicious. Definitely had a pleasant experience, I totally recommend this place!
