I knew the minute I walked in and smelled the air that I was about to eat some really good carrot cake. I got two slices to go, and a small assortment to bring to a family gathering the next day. The carrot cake was absolute insanity, as I knew it would be. I ate it at home alongside a hot cup of ear grey tea, and was struck by a moment of autumnal perfection. Would recommend, & will be back to try their savoury offerings.
My husband and I came to Carlton Place for the first time and had the opportunity to visit Taste Blooms. I would have to agree with some of the other prior comments - it is a great example of a cozy bakery in a quaint town mind current road work... short-term inconvenience. They have great baked products which are handmade in house. The owner/operators were on hand and took the time to have conversation with all the patrons. They were kind enough to even have small samplings of some of their baked goods which isn't commonplace. They have a nice mix of gluten-free healthier options as well as traditional baking. We tried a raspberry and white chocolate scone- it was delicious even the next day. Other than bars cookies and scones they also have cake options as well. We highly recommend.
Stopped in to buy some croissants not knowing what to expect - and was greeted by the most friendly, warm, attentive service. This sounds cheesy but it felt like an old friend inviting me into their home. And the croissants! My GOD! Flaky, buttery, delicious. A really great mix of sweet treats, savoury foods, and lunch items. Can't wait to stop in again, next time for lunch!!
In June 2022 I apologize for the late review!, my wife ordered the Taste Blooms 'Blackforest' cake for my birthday celebration. This cake was absolutely magnificent! Large pieces of shaved chocolate embraced the side the this round cake to represent the forest. The inside of the cake held whipped cream and delicious dark cherries. I enjoyed it so much, as did our hosts, who were kind enough to share my day. A birthday to remember!
We got a cake for my son's first birthday, it was absolutely delicious! And decorated beautifully. Would recommend this cake to anyone but not if they need it for a timed event. Time management seems to be lacking. The cake was supposed to be ready for 10am and my husband didn't leave there till after 11 so he was late for our sons birthday. This also happened to my mother in law for a baby shower 2 hours late and they ended up having to deliver it Also I don't think the prices are well discussed I was under the impression of a price as discussed but was charged something much different. Which could be my fault for not asking for a final price.
I ordered a cake for my son’s first birthday. The cake was supposed to be ready at 10 am but was ready at 3:00 pm. Honestly, it was worth the wait. The cake was the MOST delicious cake that I have ever had in my life. TB is DEFINITELY my favourite place to order a cake from for any occasion that I might have in the future. If you’re looking for a high quality place to order a cake, place your order with them with confidence.
Absolutely love this place! The owners are the nicest couple, they are always so friendly. They are always so sweet to chat with, offering samples of the fresh baked goods and topping up your coffee! All of the food and baking is delicious!
We spotted this cute bakery while taking a stroll in the Downtown during our visit to Carlton Place. The ambience is simple yet lively. We ordered Carrot pastry, Almond cake they were awesome and though it was quite filling We couldn't resist and tried Almond crossaint..... it was so delicious. The hosts are very friendly. Eager to visit this place soon and enjoy other pastries as well.
Response to Owner: okay maybe I got your name wrong started with a T my apologies. This happened in October, we spoke on the phone and even texted with pictures of the cake. Baffled by my experience here. I spoke with Tiffany and ordered a cake well in advance for my husband’s birthday. We decided on a great cake and I was looking forward to it! The day of, I receive a call to confirm the details, which was a little surprising but fine. That means super fresh cake. I get a second call to push the pick up time as they were busy; okay I had some room to work with, new pick up time confirmed. I arrive to pick my up cake, not only it wasn’t done - Tiffany was no where to be found according to husband who was at the bakery at the time so that meant no cake, birthday surprise was ruined and I was left high and dry. Husband did offer to deliver the cake later that evening - but what’s the point - dinner was over and kiddos to bed. Disappointed by the unprofessionalism; did not feel valued and my event or cake was not important enough to be competed on time.
Very lovely employees! The food is fantastic especially the baked goods very good vegan choices. The pickled beets here are super tasty!
