i was so excited to try this place, as the reviews were positive and they had gluten free options! we were super disappointed though everything is over priced, the food was very basic and the lattes could be made at home better. there is really nothing special about the drinks or food. so, so sad!
Owner is often there alone and working very hard to take all the orders and provide service. Breakfast sandwich is simple and delicious! My favorite one to have. Lovely atmosphere and casual.
I was just here minutes ago. The owner was rude and didn't even bother to great me at all. I asked for an iced matcha latte with almond milk and all I got was powder not even mixed and he put whole milk in it which I can't have. The cookies and food were terrible and overpriced. Will not be returning.
Best cafe for celiacs! The owner is very knowledgable about gluten cross-contamination. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. There are ample books to read on the bookshelf. My fave gluten free treats are the chickpea masala roll and the peanut butter cookie. If you're looking for a meal, the deluxe gluten free breakfast sandwich is a must.
Please be advised that the lovely Val sold the place in June 2017 so I advise reading only reviews from that time on. This my local coffee haunt. Mostly because you just can't help like the lovely Yorkshire lady who owns the place. You are always sitting down with friends here. Like the world's best common room. If you are an introvert, and could do without the chat, there are lots of books for patrons to read. The biggest draw though, is that this is the place to be if you are gluten-free. Baked goods are made daily on the premises with gluten-free ingredients.
Great coffee! Lots of gluten free options for treats!
Gluten Free are my favourite for any place in town! Beautiful setting, big open windows with lots of natural light, giant bookshelf you can borrow books to read while you visit and bookmark your place with your name for the next visit. Comfortable seating. Many delicious Gluten-free options for food and desert, veggie breakfast sandwich with a big chuck of brie yum also has had a few new options added to the menu lately, like salads and a seasonal favourite Pumpkin Spice Lattes! OH and The Coz cake is to die for. Love this place!
I love this coffee shop! A real gem. It's a great place to meet and has delicious food to boot. You can often find me snuggling into the cushions with a hot drink in hand and warm sunshine on my shoulders from their enormous windows. When my daughter is with me, she loves to look through the books and play with the toys set aside especially for kids.
Food terrible. Coffee even worse. I don't even like George Bush
The owner Val bakes delicious gluten free goodies and always make you feel welcome. The coffee is delicious too, without that burnt taste that some of the bigger coffee shop chains sometimes seem to have. The library is another special feature of this one-of-a-kind coffee shop. Check it out and it will soon become your favourite place to be for gluten free and for delicious coffee and a warm welcome.
