A hotel with character and history. It was a comfortable stay and nice to have the restaurant/lounge in the hotel. We ate there one night and really enjoyed it. Our server was James and he was great. The food was good and the view spectacular. The rooms are a bit dated but they’ve tried to update certain things. It is an older/historic hotel after all. Still very comfortable. Easy walk to Stanley Park and Granville Island. About 30 minutes to Canada Place. If you have time make sure you look at the old pictures and newspaper clippings on the wall near reception.
This place is the best if you love a bit of old-world charm - I do. We enjoyed a great meal and soaked up the ambience. Great view of the water and lovely service. Didn't stay in the accommodation but I've heard from family that it's great.
Catching up on my vacation reviews and I am remembering our time at The Sylvia Hotel! WOW, what a great stay! We had two nights and an awesome day at The Sylvia and nearby Stanley Park. We were a very late check in as we flew in from the East Coast. The late check in wasn't a problem, we were welcomed by a friendly front desk staff member, given our room, and answers to all of our questions. Slept like babies in the cozy bed and the fresh air from the open windows was perfect!! We had a delicious breakfast at the hotel on our second morning and the view of English Bay while we ate was enjoyable. THANK YOU for a safe place to rest, a delicious meal, and friendly staff. We will be back!!!
Had an absolutely fabulous 2 night stay at the Sylvia. From the moment we walked in to the historic hotel, we were welcomed warmly by the staff they even gave us a complimentary room upgrade. We loved all the old photos around the hotel. Location is also breathtaking right on the beach and extremely convenient for local tourism literally at the gates of Stanley park.nnFor the rooms, beds were very comfortable and everything was clean, my only note is that because this is an old building, sound proofing isn’t the best.nnWe also had lunch at the lounge one afternoon - tasty and fairly priced.nnWould absolutely come back here - thank you for a wonderful stay!
Cute and quaint little hotel in a perfect location right by the water. The room was clean and the service was great, everyone was super friendly. Parking was also super easy and secure, highly recommend this place if you want something in a cute neighborhood but not too far from everything else.
