Treated myself to an early B-Day present for one night. This place was recommended by a friend who advised to ask for old part of hotel. Very nice. Staff accommodating and professional. It’s pet friendly. Room was extremely comfy. The food was great. Would have loved to stay longer but other ventures were calling. Thank you everyone!
I loved my stay. Clean and comfortable. Unique old school vibe. Great service. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Each morning I went downstairs, sipped coffee while enjoying the view of English Bay and the morning activity along the seawall. Bliss

Had lunch in the dining room. Ray was our host and server. He was polite and friendly and just charming. The food was so good! Very fresh and so full of taste. I had the tuna tataki salad and my partner had the fish tacos. Such a generous portion of food in the salad. I had to get my partner to finish it for me. Of course the location looking out onto the beach was amazing too. Top points all around!
I had a Petite Queen, corner room with street view, which was small and basic but fine. Comfortable bed. Wifi not great in my room.nA security deposit of C$100 per night is held on guests’ credit card. Staff are pleasant. I enjoyed viewing the historic pictures on the walls.nRestaurant: I ate a tasty, vegan bowl meal for lunch, at a water-facing table, which was very pleasant. I did not eat breakfast there, since there was almost nothing vegan, other than a fruit plate. Disappointing to see that they are still charging extra - $1 extra! - for plant milk. I would be surprised if vegan butter, mayo or burger buns are available.
