Suyo Modern Peruvian

Everything was fantastic! Highly recommend the octopus dish, it was the best octopus dish I ever had! Not rubbery at all and it was super tender. The ceviche was also fresh and tasty. The pear rice pudding dessert is refreshing and looks like it came out of a fairytale. The cocktails are also super unique and there’s something for everyone. Love this place!

Wow! Was so excited to try this new to Vancouver restaurant. I was blown away with the thoughtfulness and creativity in each dish. Octopus, tartar, and the halibut ceviche were the highlight for sure however, everything was absolutely delicious. The cocktails are so imaginative and there’s a story behind each dish and cocktail. It was a wonderful evening overall! We sat at the bar and were served by Max. He was charming and very enthusiastic about all of the cocktails and food. Would recommend anyone to try this fantastic restaurant and I can’t wait to go back.

A very comfortable, great atmosphere restaurant. The food is spectacular and presented with excellent style and worthy of any Instagram photo. It is simply delicious and sure to leave you with a smile on your face. The service is impeccable, friendly and very knowledgeable about the dishes. Reservations are difficult to get so make sure you book in advance!

Amazing dinner! We had the limited NYE 7-course tasting menu $149 per person which included halibut ceviche, beet and parsnip salad, octopus, duck, trout, and two desserts. Every dish felt like it was meticulously put together with beautiful presentation and great flavours. Portions were generous and great value. Our favourite dish of the night was hands down the octopus, which was tender and velvety. Our fabulous server Andres enthusiastically walked us through each course, while providing the Peruvian history for specific dishes. Their cocktails are equally as creative and full of Peruvian roots.

Run, don't walk to Suyo! The food was really tasty and creative. The chef masterfully takes classic Peruvian dishes and re-imagines them in modern way. I really appreciated how I could pull those classic tastes of Peruvian cuisine and elevate them in a way that was quite unique to the chef. I've missed Peruvian food alot so I was so pleasantly surprised to see this place open in our neighborhood. The cocktail program is incredible- I loved their amaro and homemade bitters. And the feature dessert we had was probably a top 5 I've ever had. The ambiance and energy is really fun and vibrant, as is the aesthetic of the restaurant. The service was great and quite seamless between the back and front of the house which I really appreciated. Bravo team- an excellent dining experience. We look forward to returning in the near future.

A great atmosphere, friendly staff and an impressive and tasty menu. You get what you pay for and it does not disappoint. As a Peruvian I am definitely a fan of this place and I cannot wait to go back! The only thing that was a small concern, was the website allowed us to make a reservation for 9:45pm but their kitchen closes at 10pm so we felt a bit rushed not by our server but by time itself to make some dinner decisions so we didn't keep the kitchen open later than needed. Despite that I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some authentic Peruvian dishes and amazing craft cocktails.

Great ambiance and beautifully presented dishes. We had a nice celebratory evening, with good service. The food though, did not impress us as much as we were hoping for considering other reviews and pricing. The white beans were salty and the ceviches were okay. I’d however recommend the short rib and peruvian trifle, these two were really good: super tender meat that melts in your mouth, and a very creative and tasty dessert. I’d still recommend this place, maybe we were just unlucky with the ceviche choices.

I would give them a million stars if I could. The ambience, food, ideas, and service were extremely accommodating. I chose the option of trying their tasting menu, so I could try lots of different menus. Every creation had different stories behind each of them and the food connected with them perfectly. You can find lots of details in the interior and the food, which also adds more fun. I really appreciated everything and everyone here, and definitely going to go back!

I almost don’t want to write this review so I can keep this hidden gem to myself, but I was blown away at how exquisite the food was. Their service was warm and each dish served were timed perfectly to our table. The attention to detail was impeccable!

Phenomenal meal and service . We are foodies and the lowest mark we gave it out of ten was 9. Every dish was fantastic . Can’t wait to go back and try different things . We shared the octopus, ceviche, tortellini,the Causa with tuna and crab , beef short ribs , and yucca fries. To die for . Cocktails were fantastic too . My new fav place . Photo quality not great because we were too busy eating .
