Sushi Umi

Awesome experience as soon as you walk in! The restaurant is essentially one private room and a stewardess welcomes you in, takes your coat and leads you to your seat. They serve 10 people each session so everyone is spaced out. The plum wine sake was great if you like something a little sweeter. The fish was excellent.

This place did not disappointment! I came here for a business dinner. I was amazed from the service right when I walked in. Service is fast and very kind. Food was impressive and stunning. Everything was beautiful and tasty. The chef would do a quick description of what he made as he served it. There is limited seating. This made the omakase experience more intimate. I would come back for a date night. Highly recommend their jelly sake. Unique texture and very flavourful!

It is definitely expensive but you are paying for a unique dinner experience to enjoy a special occasion. The food was really exceptional, even if you are not the biggest seafood fan, the sushi that was prepared tasted very clean unlike the sushi you might get at AYCE establishments. Some negatives are that the waiting staff are a bit like hawks which can be great service but distracting when you are trying to enjoy your meal. Would have also liked to have the menu fully written out to describe what each dish was rather than spoken out softly by a server. Overall, it was still a great and memorable experience!

The food here was very fresh with many of it's fresh ingredients flown in direct from Japan. The uni was slightly disappointing as it was very cold when served and unfortunately muted the other flavours in the bite as a result. The fish were the standard types that you would get in an omakase, however the menu was not on par with the price point at $168. There was not very much explanation without prompting, but both host and chef staff were both very friendly.

Everything was amazing at Umi! High quality ingredients made by skillful chefs, especially chef Ivan. Chefs and staff are friendly and really pay attention to details. Clean and warm décor. Cannot wait to go back again

We were at UMI for a birthday celebration. Ivan, the chef was very nice. From appetizers, sashimi, arrays of sushi and desserts were all great. Only the sauce of the appetizer scallop is quite sweet for me. The scallops were a bit overcooked. The price is very reasonable at this level of service and quality of food.

We visited here for my sister's birthday. It has great peaceful atmosphere and every dish was nice texture and melt like cheese. We all enjoyed the service and delicious dishes. Thank you for making great experience and my sister thanked for a surprise cake for her bithday!

Had the pleasure to grab a bite here for the first time, Chef Ivan is friendly and everything about this restaurant is fabulous. Impeccable service with scrumptious food items will bring you back 100%!! Highly recommend all to visit at Sushi Umi. I m so excited for the next time!!

My partner and I came for our anniversary dinner and really enjoyed the experience! The restaurant was super cozy, and was very clean. We felt we were sufficiently distanced from other parties. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. There wasn’t a dish they served that we didn’t enjoy! We were very full and satisfied with everything. Hope to come back again soon!
