Super 8 by Wyndham Quebec City

Very good value. We had a dog friendly room that needed a little airing out when we first arrived but then it was fine. There was a small grassy area along the side that was adequate for getting our dog out for a pee etc. And there was a simple breakfast included in the price. It was surprisingly quiet considering how close it was to a big restaurant next door and the driveway to the parking lot was next to our window.

Stayed Dec 23 - 27 2017. The good - most staff were friendly. The pool was ok the first 2 days. The bad - our car was broken into the first night. We had $400 of damage and theft. The desk staff said they had never heard of that happening there. I highly doubt that. At the same time they said that there are cameras on the entry side of the building but none facing the parking lot. If they are clearly aware of this deficiency, they need to do something about it! The thief that scoped the place would have quickly seen there were no cameras facing the parking lot. By the evening of the 25th, the pool reeked like sewage. Seems the pool chemicals were not being properly adjusted with the high load on the pool. It got worse on the 26th. I am no snob and will swim in a pond but the smell was bad enough that my kids and I would not use the pool for the second half of our stay. The manager was to call me regarding the break in when he returned from vacation. He has yet to call me after more than 2 weeks. What a disappointment the place was.

The pool area was good for the kids and they had a lifeguard from Friday till Sunday. The breakfast was also good with an additional area open for overflow of guests. Our room was especially nice because of the bunk beds for the kids. The only criticism I have we that after our first night, they did not clean our room.

Good value for the price. Not the best but the room was okay and most importantly, clean and quiet even though the hotel was full. Staff is friendly. The pool with waterslide was nice. Pets are welcomed for a little extra (which is THE reason why we chose this place).

Standard room. Not much in terms of amenities, but close to the airport and quiet. Average traveler's hotel.
