Absolutely beautiful beach! My partner and I went on 2/9 and the weather was perfect for exploring around the beach. We spent at least 3 hours here climbing over rocks and checking out all the little pools of water that held so many different creatures in them. Lots of sea urchins, anemones, star fish, crabs, snails, sea slugs, hermit crabs, fish, and other little things that I do not know the names of! Definitely worth coming to check this place out if you are visiting anywhere near by :
One of the most Beautiful places on the West Coast of the USA. You go for the sunset of course and keep going back for all the other Fabulous things this area has to offer. And again, Finish up with a gorgeous Sunset. Rain or shine you can see it. Mass people in the summer tho and pretty busy all year round. If you want to camp, reserve your space as soon as possible. Just driving all the way and hoping, thinking probably, there is a spot is not going to turn out well. I saw some of the buried forest. Not along the whole beach this time but a few towards the river. Very cool. And the Sunset did not disappoint.
Really beautiful park great place for sunsets, hence the name: Very clean park, great place for kids to run around and be visible to you. Pretty safe little bay with moderate waves rolling in. Never never turn your back on the ocean. Always be watching and listening for those sneaker waves.
Clean campground, friendly park hosts. Lots of trails. The crows were annoying but didn't ruin the stay. Beach is very clean and soft sand. Would definitely recommend for adults and children. Botanical Garden was nice and would be great in spring.
I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Beautifully maintained and clean. Including bathrooms. The rangers and volunteers here are the nicest people. Even when my two girls talked their ears off. We love that many of the sites are a little more on the private side with bushes between most sites. There are plenty you can get clustered together if you’re coming with a group. The activities in the area are unrivaled and we go camping multiple times every summer all over the state. They have a kids’ Jr ranger activity book and interpretive center with animal displays to see and touch and regular volunteer lead activities and crafts. The calm bay nearby is perfect for kids to play and paddleboarding/kayaking. The tide pools in the bay are a must see! Definitely go to the nearby Simpson’s reef during a viewing time ask the park rangers/volunteers for some animal viewing.
Good campsite. Amazing scenery, drive, the atmosphere and the NATURE. We stayed here for 3 nights. It's about 10-15 minutes away from the town so everything is accessible people are so nice can't be the view of the ocean inland, the nature and all the land and sea creatures of day and night.
The scenery is fantastic! The park is pretty good, we stayed 4 nights in late March and some of the sites were quite muddy and there were many "unsavory" vehicles circling the park each day so stowe your valuables if you leave camp.there was a heavy ranger presence and on the weekend days we did see police circle through a few times. Tons of hiking nearby!
This is an amazing place to visit. The coastline is breathtaking. Seeing the waves crashing on giant rock formations and cliffs is unreal. This park has so many viewpoints, and all of them are like a nature photographer's dream.
Small but beautiful sandy beach. Parking lot is about 50 yards from the water. Not too busy. Park restrooms are 'ok', and very easy to access. The view of the ocean and cliffs, is amazing. Great place for anyone that needs easy access to enjoy part of the Oregon coastline.
Another amazing jewel of the magical Oregon coast. Clean campsite with great camp hosts! Many wonderful hiking trails and a Private beach.
