Bastendorff Beach Park

Excellent sunsets and a great place to have a bond fire. Make sure to dress warmly, regardless of the season. Great walking beach during the day. Would not recommend ladies walking here alone at evening or night. There is camping on site and sometimes it brings rough characters to the beach. Has had a tarnished reputation recently. Also be careful driving as there are some large holes in the road and that will damage your vehicle.

Coolest beach I've seen in person in Oregon, been to the big beach a number of times. I like to come out here and visit my family & go for drives from one beach to another. Only two (Horse Fall & Shore Aces) charge for parking. Make sure to visit the cave at the south end of Bastendorff.

Had great weather, would have been better if the bathroom doors were NOT locked on the entire upper area! No showers or bathroom unless you walked down to the lower camp sites and there you would find one room with two shower stalls, the problem being that if one person was using a shower they would lock the door...so no showers!

Bastendorff is a beautiful beach on which dogs are allowed to be off-leash. There is a lovely cove at the south end of the beach that is accessible during low tide. There is ample free parking, and public restrooms available at one of the parking areas, about midway of the beach. The lighthouse is viewable, and one is frequently able to watch large ships being escorted into or out of the bay. It is one of my favorite walking spots.

This a wonderful campground set just above the beach. Though the actual sites are small, vegetation makes them feel private. Overall, the clean and well maintained. We'll definitely go back for longer stay.
