Sunriver Country Store

Cheese I bought two days ago on 08/18/17 had a thick patch of dark green mold despite being refrigerated immediately and having an expiration date six weeks in the future (12/09/2017). Also, the package was not opened until minutes before I discovered the mold. This much mold this soon in a sealed package suggests the refrigeration is not reliable somewhere in the supply chain. Furthermore, this store has a local monopoly and less incentive to be better. With less competition they have less accountability.

Typical tourist/resort grocery store. Items tend to be spendier. But they did have a wider assortment of higher end options.

My observations....after 19 years I've had it! I suggest whoever is selecting the QUALITY of the food needs to WAKE UP FAST! I believe that most shopping at the market are in the " influential category " patrons hence they are interested in QUALITY. Far too much has been reduced toWestern Family jazz....the soup selection is limited but400 cans of noodle soup is on the selves....that prevents other selection being added. Who's running this outfit? The bread selection is just awlful.....it's tasteless! It may say French or Sourdough but it's only a change in the package....it has no texture,no flavor and is all air! What the h--- is going on? I further suggest....you're "way over priced" as the quality is down.....you're getting top price for poor products....you're beef rib bones are outstanding and priced accordingly....I'm using Newport now! I now go to LaPine, have breakfast in LaPine,shop in LaPine and save $50.00.......your driving us out of Sunriver. It's not just food it's also breakfast, lunch......the deli bar is junk.....some of those lights have been on for days and the food tasteless....you're kidding yourself with Subway down the street. Have your employees eat off the deli bar for a week..give them an anonymous grading sheet ....how about YOU eating it? So what do I suggest....you better cater to those that last thru the winter. We are why you survive....the tourist will buy anything.....the residents want selection and QUALITY!

Wide selection of everything I might buy at a-little-less than resort prices.
